I'm not sure. When I was younger, I really wanted to be an archaeologist but I gave up that dream because I found out it wasn't paid much (year nine logic <doh>) though I really really wish I hadn't done that. Since then I've wanted to work in the charity sector but not sure doing what, an idea was marketing but I've pretty much given that up in the short term because it's so ultra competitive. So I guess the things I'm passionate about are geography, history, astronomy and marketing Portsmouth Ladies (if I could get a paid job there, that would be amazing, but that's not going to happen).

Edit: 431 likes, woo!

Think they're more than capable of doing that themselves...

There's a gap in the market for decent cartoons in this country. Perhaps I could create the British answer to Archer.

Stick with that thought Dan. It will serve you so much better in the long run (unless you're purely money motivated, which actually very few people are.....then become an investment banker).

Enough to live at a reasonable standard without having to worry about finances will do me. Luxuries are great and all, but I can't see the point if you're spending most of every day doing something you loathe.

Wouldn't that just be seen as a crummy James Bond parody?

I get what you're saying about the Portsmouth Ladies Team - is there anything you can do to help out with them on weekends voluntarily (if you genuinely love them)? If so, go for it. You never know what opportunities it will open up if you go into it with some passion and a positive attitude.

I run their Facebook page, completely voluntary of course, but the aim is to increase awareness and get more people knowing that there is a Portsmouth Ladies team and hopefully that will lead to increased attendances. So far the page has 431 likes. In April of this year, it had about 15-20ish.

I may also become their stadium announcer and music player (Les Mis soundtrack!) but not sure.

Thanks for the advice though. Similarly to Dan, I'm not sure what I want to do and even more so, not sure what I'm capable of doing. All I can say though is that after this experience, I think I want to pursue other non-office type areas.

Way too early for a January transfer thread...but Di Marzio says we are back in for Davide Astori again........... Deja Vu?

Oh god can he just sign for someone else please? So sick of hearing that name.

We don't need a CB at all. Imagine Yoshida being fourth choice. Not necessary.

Yep, read that a couple of days ago. The BBC are running a little scared at the moment. They don't know what the correct action to take is, whether it be commissioning programmes, cancelling them or whatever. Plus you've got Tessa Jowell of the Labour Party suggesting they become a Mutual Company, which starts the process of kicking the BBC in touch, as far as being the nations cultural yardstick is concerned.

Yeah, assuming that we don't have unlimited funds, dropping 6-10m on another CB likely isn't much of a priority.

Cortese has the uncanny habit of knowing what is required, so if he thinks it's time to spend money, it's time to spend money.

I wouldn't say our signings have been flawless since Cortese has been here. Chung was rather unnecessary and seemingly so was Gaston. Now I don't know whose idea those signings were but clearly we can't be totally confident of every signing being a success. I feel that signing Astori would be a bad decision, and I don't think we've been so good in the market that I should just have blind faith from now on.
