Personally I thought Osvaldo had a good game Saturday. He ran his heart out. OK he missed a couple of chances but what striker doesn't!
He also missed quite a lot of passes. And chances to pass. Generally his decision-making was appalling.
On reflection I think I agree with that. If you want to be generous you'd say he's currently trying too hard to impress as an individual because he's keen to score goals and prove himself. If you want to be harsh you'd say the pressure of not scoring many goals yet is playing on his mind and affecting his performances. Either way, when/if he gets a couple of goals I think he'll settle down nicely.
Strikers have to have a streak of confidence which can lead to them appearing selfish. Ozzie is probably desperate to score...we have to be patient.
Well after tonight's game: Boruc Clyne, Fonte, Lovren, Shaw Schneiderlin, Davis, Wanyama Lallana Osvaldo, Lambert However I think it's more likely to be be Lambert in for Rodriguez (the only change from the Man Utd game).
Fulham will have tougher opposition to score against at SMS, but worrying that they can score such special goals. However, they would be higher up the table if they could do that regularly.
Agree Fran. Palace were dire 2nd half. Pretty confident we'll wqin the midfield battle on Saturday and the goals will come!

Just wonder where Guly is in the pecking order though. MP clearly saw something to keep Lee and he's scoring goals. Could be a good late impacrt sub.
Think we kept Tadanari because we couldn't get rid of him and we had space for a striker. Would take a couple of injuries to get him back on the bench as Guly seems in favour for that last spot. However, Mauricio seems like a manager who gives people a chance, so Lee hasn't done himself any harm...just have to prove himself when given the chance.
-----------Boruc --Clyne--Fonte--Lovren--Shaw -----Morgan--Schneiderlin --Lallana---Davis---Rodriguez -----------Lambert Osvaldo and Ramirez as subs is more than handy. If Ramirez does come back into the fold which I don't think is in much doubt, I can see him really striving to prove he can fit into the boss's system by keeping possession more and pressing more intelligently. For all the good defensive work we are crying out for a no.10. Pochettino's harsh line on Ramirez will be the making of him I feel. Its up to Ramirez but if he can play within pochettino's system and adapt to to his high fitness demands and requirement for possession he will be of so much more value to the team.
I was wondering so far this season how many of our goals have been setup by JWP? I actually starting to think hes the sort of player you cant leave out as we are more of a threat with his set pieces crosses.
Think we need to stick with Osvaldo...he needs to play regularly to improve in the EPL. Our reward when he hits form will more than compensate for odd points dropped now. Some people seem to be making harsh judgements based on one game where he played without Lambert at Old Trafford.
JWP is a little gem getting overlooked by the media. Mauricio and his U21 England manager appreciate him.
