Come on my lyrics were from The Prodigy, probably one of the biggest groups ever. I agree about the rest tho.

Of course, if posters really want to be clever then they could talk to each other in song lyrics. What you must do though is name the song and link the line, so there's no cheating. For example, I could write:

How can I be sure, in a world that's constantly changing..?

Click the line to verify the song. Now the next poster has to quote a song line that makes sense after the one above. Not the same song, thank you. :)

What would make you think that?!

I agree, the Game of Thrones intro is excellent. Best TV intro since:

Oh well, my idea really had legs. Just shows that when it comes to being really clever, nobody's up for it. :)

What are your thoughts on the race today TSS? Confusion reigns....(and nearly rains...) Makes the championship pretty tasty going into Japan....

I thought it was a great spin on the usual stuff. Phillip Island is a very grippy circuit and yet they've gone and resurfaced it and made it so grippy that Bridgestone couldn't build a tyre to safely go the distance.

The confusion happened with the one-off compulsory pit-stop. They had a two lap window to do it in and it seemed pretty straight forward. Then Dani came in too hot and was penalised one position, everybody else came in and went out, bar Marquez. I think Marquez simply got shaken by a near-off he had and missed his original pit-in lap. That, or someone feeding information via the pit-board got it wrong. Whatever happened, he came in too late and them's the breaks.

On the subject of pit-boards and no radio: I love it. One of the things that makes MotoGP just that little more tense is that the riders are in complete control of what is happening. There is no back-up, no warning, save for a pit-board which can, at most, suggest an engine setting. If a tyre is on its way out it's up to the rider to nurse it, and these things are generally great levellers.

As far as the Marquez/Lorenzo coming together, I felt that there were two things which contributed. 1] the pit-lane 60K limit had been extended, it appears, so that the bikes couldn't get upto racing speeds, and 2] there's a thing in everyday motorcycling called the suicide look, or the save-your-life look. They both mean exactly the same thing, and what it means is that whether you've looked before or recently, the very last thing you do before you enter another road is you have a last look [it could stop you committing suicide and save your life]. Marquez took an early look, but then didn't look again. He pulled out into traffic [Lorenzo and Pedrosa] and was clouted. His fault entirely. The lad obviously needs lessons..! ;)

Then the traditional Phillip Island weather came in and nearly caught everyone. They charged around for 19 laps instead of the usual 20. A 20th might have proven interesting at race speeds. Roll on Japan. It is going to be interesting.

Think I've mentioned before that I used to have conversations with a mate of mine in song lyrics. Only worked when we'd had a few beers because the mind seems to operate freer. We could keep it going for several minutes, making pretty good sense. We got good at it too, though it used to turn a few heads in the pub. I think people thought we were a bit barmy, but it was just a game.
