Sturridge was useless again. Needs a good talking to by Roy and made to understand that it is a team game, not the Sturridge show.

I also agree with the above that Lallana would've been better on the left. I thought Smalling did quite well.

Showed almost form the start that Carrick should've been playing instead of one of the undroppables for the last 5 years. Gerrard does not have the stamina to go box to box anymore and looked better being able to stay further forward. Lampard was shocking when he came on. Maybe he is already further over the hill than I thought.

Still thought Rooney was having to do too much of the fetching and carrying. Cahill and Jagielka are looking potentially a great pairing.

Yes, we know. Got the big build up. Lambert didn't even get his face on the screen either, let alone minutes on the pitch. In that scenario, the interest was always going to be little more than academic. Townsend raised an eyebrow though, I must admit.

I think the bit where I paid the closest attention was where Rooney's head protector slid off and I looked to see if the cut had healed. It had, but I think he likes his protector.
 
Internationals are supposed to include all the best players, but you see far more shoddy passing than you do in the average PL game. I suppose that results from less game time together. Will be better when half the England side is made up of the Saints team :)

What is the significance of 46 in your sig? I always thought it was the answer to life the universe and everything, but it only hit me this morning that is in fact 42.
