I can see this game staying 0-0 for a long time. Boruc pulling off a series of wonder saves until a certain substitute comes on to rescue England.
If Rooney & Wellbeck can get slight knocks too, that'd top it off. Maybe a crazy sliding save from Boruc clattering them over 'by mistake'.
Lambert credited with winner after Boruc mysteriously fumbles the ball over the line, both of them banned for two years for match-fixing.
Slovenia/Iceland, Sweden, France, Turkey/Romania/Hungary That is, if England is seeded for the draw (it should be, but i'm not sure.)
Hope Boruc plays well and keeps England out. Only way I would want England to get a goal would be if Rickie were to score. Other than that, I couldn't care less.
True, but Zlatan scored 4 amazing goals that match. Here's a reminder; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pq9CoZCJH3I England has a much better squad, i agree, but Sweden has Zlatan. The most complete center forward there is, unplayable most of the time.
I would fancy us to beat Sweden to be honest. In fact I would fancy us to beat France if someone else was manager. Hodgson needs to be brave and pick youthful exuberance, and not always think defence first. Nobody knew who Muller, Ozil and Khedira were until they we're thrown in and tested at international level, and look at them now. Hodgson just needs to be brave and gamble on young players like Barkley, Townsend, Redmond, Morrison, Shaw etc. and mix it with the experience. If you're good enough your old enough. Through a few of them in the mix, with the spine of our team, and suddenly things look a bit brighter.
Steve Claridge on The Monday Night Club is on form this evening regarding representing one's country. Quite entertaining.
