Osvaldo talking to Italian media after the 2-2 draw with Denmark in Copenhagen. Osvaldo: “At Southampton I have found a more serene and peaceful environment than in Rome, the fans have shown me so much love from the start. AS Roma on top of the Serie A table? It makes me happy. I miss the dressing room, as from the human point of view. I hope they will continue like that on the road to victory. I don’t regret having left for Southampton, I only miss the friends I had in the locker room.”
Should probably take a moment to talk about Iceland, who are still second in their group, and could very well make it to their first World Cup. Also Armenia can still make it.
You've got to credit the Italians, they have style... Dani and teammates in Copenhagen earlier tonight: http://twitter.com/SouthamptonFC/status/388573834023952384/photo/1
Uruguay lost to Ecuador. 1-0. Ecuador, Chile and Uruguay all have 25 points and occupy 3rd, 4th and 5th positions in qualifying. Chile and Ecuador face each other on Tuesday whilst Uruguay take on Argentina. The top four go straight through, and fifth go into the play-off, which will be against Jordan. Exciting climax in South American qualifying!
Uruguay is on 22 points, no? They can still finish in the top four on tiebreakers, but the likelihood is that they'll face Jordan, who they ought to be able to beat fairly handily.
Just caught up with last night's football as I was acting in a play while all that was happening. That is an absolute blinder of a goal, which should show (a) Southampton fans what a gem we have in Dani, if we didn't already know, (b) the sort of service the likes of Morgan and Victor should be giving him, and (c) those twats at Roma what they have driven away with their stupidity.
Maybe I'm just overly sceptical, but Lukaku was 10, Hazard was 11, and Benteke was 12, but players like Mignolet/Kompany/Lombaerts were 16+. Timmy Simons was 22 and had just won Belgian player of the year. It doesn't seem to make sense for them all to be in the same article, particularly as it about a 100% strike rate. Someone tell me I'm wrong.
Believe that you are correct...date in the upper right is October 2013, and it appears to be looking at the current squad through the lens of their ages when the Belgian side last qualified for the World Cup in 2002.
