Yep.Little pocketbook. Truly wonderful. Read a book called Time, Space and metaphysics by a dude called Bede Rundle (Kiwi philosopher) earlier in the year. that too was amazing, but a little heavy going at times.
 
In all seriousness, will make a note of these books and see if I can pick one of them up in Duty Free, that or a skin mag <ok>

Nothing, a very short introduction by Frank Close (Oxford press) was @ £8 off Amazon. Time Space and Metaphysics is @ £50, so I downloaded it off ISO Hunt and converted it to MOBI, then read it on my Kindle. There's tons of good books on science and philosophy you can do that with (and indeed others: I downloaded the whole Flashman series, 12 books, and read them on my Kindle), or..... you can just order them from your library, if you still have one. I'm very lucky in that we still have one at the end of our lane. I was never out of Dovecot library when I was a kid.

You haven't done 'heavy' until you've read 'Shadows of the Mind' by Professor Sir Roger Penrose. That took me a long,long time <yikes>

I don't own and never will own a kindle, or any other form of e-reader. I love books <ok>
 
Talking of all this, I'm off atm after a minor operation and I was watching Pointless yesterday. Thought I was soooooooooooooooooo ****ing clever (especially on the picture round, when I even got a question about Maime Eisenhower right) then I realised - it's a bastard repeat I saw last year in the messroom at work... :emoticon-0106-cryin

I didn't get many right the first time round. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Back in the day I used to watch quiz shows during the day and when my housemate got back from work we would watch the evening rerun and I'd be owning the questions to his amazement, I got a good 2 months out of that<laugh>

When I was at school, me and mate used to hide in a small room to the back of our registration room when we were meant to go to assembly. Whilst all the other ****ers were sat bored out their mind listening the the headmaster ramble on, we were watching Big Breakfast <diva>
