What a load of ****. Might as well say every major city in the world is crap then. New York has all of the same "problems".

Pfft, tell that to LeGarrette Blount and Jerome Simpson.

Yeah, it's legal in the NFL (and college, I believe), which is nice because that Jerome Simpson flip is and probably will always be the most stupidly athletic thing I've seen in a football game.

Apparently, the penalty is for an illegal contact foul, even if there's no contact between the players. If it's going to be banned, they should at least give the penalty a better name...you'd willingly give up the touchdown and fifteen yards if it meant being penalized for 'excessive badassery'.

Now, which of the 3pm games that I don't particularly care about should I watch...

Three of the top ten "ugliest" towns are within ten miles of me. And I went to Uni in one of them.

Ah fair enough. I have absolutely no idea about high school football, but it makes sense.

Yeah, only reason I know about it is that Deadspin post. Beyond that, I know more about the mating habits of mollusks than high school American football.

I'm struggling to understand the parameters that make Chipping Norton a crap town. There seems to be only one factor, which appears to be achieving enough votes. So these results can be manipulated by mass voting and ignorance.

If someone was going to ask me what were the crappiest towns in the UK, I wouldn't have picked that list or order, and I accept that Southampton is not a shining example of a prettiest town in the UK. It's certainly nowhere near the worst either.

Dare I ask what a person of your age would find in a place like Eastbourne, where to be fair, the demographic balance doesn't favour your age group. Relatives..?

The theory behind it is solid, but what I've seen of it in practice it's terrible, everyone I've seen who's played it hated it, it's just hours and hours of clicking furiously in the same places without really achieving much. Looks like a game built for mobiles ported onto PC.

It's by Peter Molyneux, so probably not worth getting. He's a marketing legend in that he always finds a way to make his terrible games sound incredible.

    The University...

But seriously, at 8am I opened the curtains to see two elderly women, with no trousers and just army jackets and flat caps to accompany them, minus the shoes and cow pattern socks. They were pissed as farts, stumbling towards the beach, wandering straight in front of traffic and harassing members of the public. They were 70 at least. Never seen anything like it!

I can't think of a place more unsuitable for a uni than Eastbourne!

Back in the late 1990s I was asked to go and sort the local Comet store's fragmented IT stock. There were hundreds of returns for no good reason, because nobody had a clue in the store. During my week there I don't think more than a half-dozen customers came in through the door who were under 60.

Don't knock it though. These people had proper dosh. ;)

Molyneux has made some great games, but his problem is that he tells these grand tales of what his games 'could' be, all these amazing things that he want to put into his games, but then inevitably ends up implementing about a third of them. It's like he uses the draft board from the first theory meeting in the development of the game as his base for advertising, and then when everyone ends up asking him where all this magical things he said were going to be in the game are he just says 'We really wanted to get that in there but in the end it wasn't viable' etc.

I like to think he's just a dreamer and not cynically overselling his games, on the face of it it seems like he is just a bullshit artist but when I've watched interviews with him he genuinely seems to just be like an over-excited kid with all these grand ideas for his dream tree-house which ends up being a few bits of wood nailed against a tree.

Perhaps, but then stuff like his recent Curiosity thing is proof to me that it is all just bullshit. That said, the Fable games are enjoyable enough (though millions of miles away from other games of its sort) and I've heard good things about Black & White.
