United could easily come 5th if they are allowed to - i.e. they get an even number of decisions going their way and against them. However that isn't going to happen and they will get plenty of points they don't deserve, meaning they'll probably get 3rd.

Dropping 4 places for Man U will be the biggest shock of the year. Or 15/20 points. Too many, even without the fergie touch. My guess is they'll finish 3rd or 4th. And rather obviously it's spurs or arse for the other position in the 4. Liverpool behind that.
City
Chelsea
Spurs
Man U
Arse
Liverpool
Everton
Swansea
Southampton
Newcastle
Stoke
West ham
Cardiff
Villa
Fulham
Hull
Norwich
West brom
Sunderland
Palace

I'd bothered to think about at least 13 of the sides. Might as well run through the others...

Hmm not a very good predictor but I'll give it a go

1. Chelsea
2. Man City
3. Arsenal
4. Liverpool
5. Man United
6. Spurs
7. Everton
8. Southampton
9. Swansea
10. Stoke
11. Aston Villa
12. West Brom
13. Cardiff
14. West Ham
15. Fulham
16. Newcastle
17. Hull
18. Sunderland
19. Norwich
20. Crystal Palace

I don't want to put my prediction as I don't want to put the mockers on how we do, but if we go again in January and maybe grab another couple of players, we could push really hard. Moyes has a mammoth job on his hands. Good coach or not, he has not got the pull of SAF as far as bringing in talent is concerned. Ferguson's influence on referees is much disputed but nonetheless, to anybody without Manc goggles, it was a real factor. Again, that's gone. They do not spend the biggest money in the League any more either. I can see them finishing 5th, particularly if RVP has reverted to type and spends huge chunks of the season out through injury.

City look strong. I think they win the title. The goons are also an injury or two away from being really thin and personally I would rather they started strong than finished that way, particularly after last year. There is nothing to suggest they can do both. As for Chelsea, hard to say. The special one's halo is a little tarnished these days and his decisions around Mata, Eto'o and Lukaku look questionable. Before the start of the season I made them favourites to win the league. Not now. Liverpool to improve, but still not good enough, which means goofy is off at the end of the season. That also means that they will have a fair chunk of change to invest in players for 2014-15. If they spend like we have, they could be back in the race then.

Bugger it; I might as well put my 10....

1. Citeh
2. Spurs
3. Chelsea
4. Arsenal
5. Man Utd
6. Liverpool
7. Swansea
8. Southampton
9. Villa
10. W. Ham

When did OODB get so optimistic? :D

<laugh> Probably one of those seasons where 6th place misses out on the Europa.

1. Man City
2. Arsenal
3. Spurs
4. Man United
5. Chelsea
6. Liverpool
7. Everton
8. Swansea
9. Southampton
10. West Ham
11. Newcastle
12. Fulham
13. West Brom
14. Stoke
15. Cardiff
16. Aston Villa
17. Norwich
18. Hull
19. Sunderland
20. Crystal Palace

You don't think you've got enough players already?!

The goons are also an injury or two away from being really thin

We already have the most depleted injury hit squad in recent history and sit top of the league. Your hope that we spend the next 33 league games with even more players out injured is unlikely. Chances are we'll have more players available to us the rest of the season than less. Especially if we spend another £50m in January.

personally I would rather (Arsenal) started strong than finished that way, particularly after last year. There is nothing to suggest they can do both.

Nothing to suggest we can't either.

As for Chelsea, hard to say. The special one's halo is a little tarnished these days and his decisions around Mata, Eto'o and Lukaku look questionable.

Agreed... he seems to have lost a bit of his edge at the moment. Could come back to bite me in the a55 though and Chelsea go on a storming run.

Liverpool to improve, but still not good enough, which means goofy is off at the end of the season.

Hopefully off in January... to Arsenal ;)

That also means that (Liverpool) will have a fair chunk of change to invest in players for 2014-15. If they spend like we have, they could be back in the race then.

Liverpool always waste their money on dross, no need to worry about them. £15m on Aspas and Illori?!

How close are these predictions then?

I had both Man U & Spurs outside the top four back in September & by the looks of it haven't done three badly on actual positions as we presently speak...

To make everyone feel better, here is what I predicted at the start of the season on another thread:

City
Chelsea
United
Tottenham
Liverpool
Villa
Everton
Soton
Swansea
West Ham
West Brom
Fulham
Norwich
Sunderland
Hull
Cardiff
Newcastle
Stoke
Palace
Arsenal

Villa and Newcastle <doh>

OODB, you've had apretty good shout with this.

it looks like you've got the top 4 correct, although in a different order. and the 3 outside the CL places look to be correct too. - again, in a different order.
and Southampton 8th.

I think it's fair to call you "realistic", OODB.

Good effort! <ok>

Think I had us to finish 3rd at the start of the season. Don't think I had Pool even in the top 4. Shows how good my prediciton skills are.

Here's a laugh for you all though, I put a cheeky bet with Paddy Power for Spurs to win the league, you know, just in case...

<doh>
