Qatar back in the news for their treatment of migrant workers, those building their stadiums. Read the article and watch video.

Really infuriates me how practically all the opposition to this World Cup has centred around the selfish Summer / Winter dilemma, when actually there are serious human rights issues to be far, far more concerned about.
 
I'm starting to believe that the idiots in charge are actually trying to kill off international football.
It sounds bizarre, but it'd suit club sides, who might want to, er... "induce" such action.

They've ballsed up the Euros massively and now they've created a clearly unworkable World Cup, which will disrupt several seasons of the game.
It's baffling, unless it's intentionally poor decision making.
 
Who are also very poor decision makers anyway.

I don't know about a car crash - FIFA, UEFA, Blatter and Platini are more like a full on motorway pile up in wind, rain, fog and snow when everyone's brakes, steering and lights fail!!!!

I wouldn't put them in charge of a game of Subuteo.
 
They need to realise that it's not much cooler in the winter than the summer in Qatar. The best way to do it would be to play at 3 o'clock in the morning (midnight here). On the plus side we'll see if the god of football has a sense of humour, let the Jocks qualify, their fans would be mega out there.
 
I shouldn't get started on this subject, it's something I have ranted about since the day this idiotic decision was made. Suffice to say that it's the triumph of greed and stupidity over! ....well everything, really!...

Extreme heat, sunburn, alcohol (when they could get it and they would find a way), men in skirts - oh boy there would be a UN Peace Keeping Force not far behind them.

The fact that Qatar is an apartheid state where workers are treated little better than slaves is of no consequence whatsoever to Blatter.

Well then I'm wrong. I've worked not too far from there (17 degrees north) with temperatures of 42 degrees mid winter and around 50 degrees in summer.

However, I think you will find the average temperatures give on many web sites include the night time temperatures. As a football match doesn't last 24 hours you need to consider the maximums.
 
So other than the slavery, homophobia, weather, lack of infrastructure, absence of local fans and having to change the entire football schedule, can anyone see a problem with having it in Qatar?
