Next league game is away to Spurs on Saturday. This is a fixture that has been kind to us down the years and would be good to get us back on track. In truth, neither team have looked that great and both seem to be picking up points while gelling. Spurs don't score that many and unlike last year I think scoring twice should be enough to secure a win in N17. As disappointing as performances have been, these players have proved time and time again they can perform in the big games. I'm quite glad we'll be coming into this game out of form because usually all the pundits predict Spurs will turn us over there and we get a result, hopefully the same again.
We've scored more than Spurs this season and to be fair, Arsenal would have put 3 or 4 past you but for Lloris having the kind of game Marshall did yesterday.
It was a joke referring to the bit DL wrote about us not scoring many so 2 being enough for you guys. You've conceded one more and scored one more, hardly reason for either of us to crow about having the advantage. DL likes a stat though so I've got some for himp). We haven't conceded at home and you haven't scored an away goal. You haven't won an away game and we've won all of our home games. I wouldn't touch these stats with a barge pole for making a prediction though. Mourinho will want to beat AVB and AVB will want to beat Chelsea so I don't think it'll be a cagey game.
A goalless draw or a narrow(ish) Chelsea win is the only outcome I can see. We did okay in the big games against Bayern and United where most expected us to lose. Spurs have only faced one top team all season and hardly pulled up any trees in that game. Our home results and away performances have been good, IMO.
I think the opposite, I think it'll be a very cagey game with neither manager wanting to lose and at this point in the season, I think both managers would take a draw with fairly comfy fixtures up until the International break.
I remember the year we won the double, Bale absolutely tore us to shreds. Such a relief we won't be facing him any longer.
Interesting stat I picked up the other day, Sprs are averaging 21 shots a game in the new season, more than any other club at this time. They have just 5 goals though.
The expression "3 Point Lane" is no longer relevant in this upcoming clash! I think I was at every game during our unbeaten spell at the Spuds! Things have changed. This clash has big consequences for both clubs! We seem to be playing crap against the lower clubs and strangely getting it right against the better ones! I dont do predictions, but what I will say is, I haven't got a ticket for this one , so I'm going to hide behind the settee, until its over ! COYB
It helps when you're playing against the likes of Norwich, Palace and Cardiff to be fair. Can't read too much into stats at this stage of the season.
You have had Norwich and Swansea at home and we have had Man Utd and Everton away! Bit of a difference.
It'll be a cagey affair. I reckon a draw but if not then either team will win by just the one goal. Spurs away is a highlight in all our calenders. Wish I was back in England to go but unfortunately not... Next season though!
