OK, so we've had a bit of a look at the teams now.

What's your top 10 for the end of the season ?

    I'll go :

    1. Man City
    2. Chelsea
    3. Arsenal
    4. Man United
    5. Spurs
    6. Liverpool
    7. Everton

    Chelsea
    City
    Arsenal
    Spurs
    Utd
    Pool
    Everton
    Swansea
    Saints
    Villa

I think the top 5 will be mightily close and I'm hoping our big squad drags us over the line

I'm amazed you think that the team that won the title easily last season, has won it 5 of the last 7 years (and missed by goal difference and one point in the other 2 years) and hasn't been out of the top 3 for 22 years would suddenly drop to 5th! SAF's gone but the players who kicked every ball last season are still there (bar Scholes). I expect Moyes to take time to come to terms with the job, but 5th?

    1. City - best team & squad. They should have enough if they sort the away form.
    2. Utd - the only other team capable of 80+ points.
    3. Chelsea
    4. Spurs - bigger/better squad than Arsenal
    5. Arsenal - flat track bullies still, but a paper thin squad
    6. Liverpool - better than the rest
    7. Everton - ditto
    8. Swansea - top six potentially, but as last season showed, it's a long, hard season
    9. Southampton - decent quality
    10. West Ham - should just hold off Stoke, WBA and Newcastle.

We all know what you think of utd Luke because you spout the same bollocks in every message you post. The problem is that nobody else rates utd as much as you do. Fergie could have been worth 15 or more points compared to moyes and all the other teams competing are better than last year

That's a bit harsh, Spurm. Your predicting a massive fall from grace. We'll see who's right in May <ok>

Harsh but true. I've lost count of the number of times you've said "the team that won the league at a canter".

How did utd look today btw? Big important game wasn't it? Hope your 1 player hasn't become a bit fragile again

How United fair against their nearest and biggest rivals will determine how well or how badly they'll finish this season. So far Moyes record against the other top teams is not good. Lost to Liverpool and hammered by City. They don't look as solid as they have been and Fellaini doesn't look as good a signing as he should. Ball watched today and didn't do his job when needed. United look at odds with themselves. Moyes has a tough job on his hands!

Luke if you want pro United views you're welcome to go visit the United board from time to time. Being Spurs fans, and having being the victims of some of the worst luck in the history of football at the hands of your club, we're entitled to wish you some of the same bad luck.

How many times since 1992 have we finished above utd?

How many seasons since 1992 have utd had a manager other then Ferguson?

......long winded way of saying if they had Ferguson we wouldn't have a hope in hell but with moyes there is a chance of Utd going from title challengers to a top four team. slim one but still possible. Its happened to Arsenal. Chelsea (when they have the wrong manager). and after Liverpool dominated for years they suffered with change.

So utd were 2nd and climbed to 1st, 1 place gain. So 5th or 6th sounds about right using your stats, thanks <ok>

    And 6th for Chelsea <cheers>

Won't mention the implications for Arsenal, also not sure how we climb 3 places from second.

Moyes has an extremely tough job on his hands. I don't think that it's an exaggeration to call it the toughest job in the division.
Not only does he have to adjust to a new club and group of players, significantly more games and higher expectations, but he's following on from Ferguson and he's inherited an aging squad.
It might be a bit of good fortune for him that a lot of clubs have had a major upheaval during the summer, but he didn't strengthen enough, in my opinion.
January will be key, but I'm not convinced that Utd will win the league.

    1. Chelsea.
    2. City.
    3. Man Utd.
    4. Spurs.
    5. Goons.
    6. Everton.
    7. Liverpool.
    8. Swansea.
    9. Southampton.
    10. West Brom.

I was not thinking specifically of United, but if you want to look at that way then i suggest you look at the points differences rather than the positions. In the tables i posted Liverpool were 3rd bottom after five games, 7th top at the end.

I think that Clarke's a good coach. Chelsea could do with him back, actually.
