Ok I might be missing something but has Lallana got a problem? He never lasts 90 mins. I can't remember a game he completed. Injury or just tactics?
Lallana often runs himself into the ground so Pochettino brings fresh legs on as he gets knackered. That's my take on it.
**** this. I've heard too much criticism of Adam recently. He is ****ing quality. He runs his arse off more than anyone, creates chances, etc. If only Ramirez and Osvaldo had his passion, they'd be our best players.
It's tactics. It worked today and helped keep up the intense pressuring and levels of ball retention. It was totally wrong at Norwich, but I'd rather have 60/70 mins of this season's Adam than 90 of last's.
Think that might be a little harsh on Dani there Black - he certainly doesn't lack for passion and he's only just arrived here! My Liverpool supporting mate who was at Anfield said that Adam was outstanding today (I didn't see the game). He's an odd one in that seemingly all opposition fans really rate him (could of course be influenced by media noise) whereas there are many on here that feel he flatters to deceive.
I think the problem is that a lot of Saints fans (disclaimer: not all of them of course, just a lot) are so busy comparing how Adam racks up against what Gaston 'would've???' done that they aren't watching the game. Adam has been quality this year. Not all flash stuff and for all creative players some tricks work and some don't but his workrate has been mega and very important to the team.
The same applies to JayRod...their industry (and Morgan's) is vital to the high energy game that we play....They get substituted because they run out of steam later in the game.
We won yet still some people moan that Adam was taken off? Yes he played well but the tactics worked didn't they?
Exactly. HE is well worth that 65 - 70 min spell as is JayRod. People only see the creative side but Jay was chasing their defense/midfield down the whole time.
I'd just reiterate the above - I think it's him running himself into the ground first, and tactics second. Nothing to do with his performances or MP not being keen on him etc. I got slightly annoyed at him being subbed vs Sunderland, because I really thought he'd started to take control of that game - and we were still looking for an equaliser. But that aside, I've had no issues with him coming off.
