So rather than laughing at someone who likes a film you don't like, why don't you suggest some "quality films".

OK fair point, in that case I geniunly recomend Harsh Times. I think it's amazing, but no one I talk to has ever heard of it. Here's the trailer

and what if someone doesn't like it? It's only a taste thing.

Watching that trailer that does look a good film.

Just to make you all green with envy I thought I would let you know that while you were all at home today playing on the computer etc. I was visiting Pete Townsend's home. I spent an hour there it was most interesting.

Fair play to him. Interesting question that it opens up is, does he have a responsibility to loved ones not take risks in case he injures or kills himself..? Does he owe them that..? For a few years, I didn't do things personally, what my family thought of as, risky because it might frighten or worry my Mum. To explain, my Mum has always been a timid person and one or two older members of my family have never bucked her programming. Only yesterday, an older brother asked me if I thought he'd wasted opportunities and experiences in his life. I asked him why he asked me, and he said that it was because I was always doing things, or about to do things, and he never did anything above the mundane. He'd never taken a risk or had an adventure and now he wasn't that happy about it, because he was much older and it was difficult for him now. Set in his ways, and all that. I wouldn't answer him. Only he could do that.

This guy's been doing his thing for the past 6 years and I would imagine he's the one best qualified to question whether he's being dangerous or not and whether he owes it to anyone to curb his behaviour. My advice to him, as if he needed any, would be to be aware of those that love him, but never let them hold him back. His pastime, it's not for me, I'll take sailing in strong gale force winds any day, compared to that. Indeed I get a kind of exhilaration when they pop up much stronger than forecast. That's part of the deal one makes with an experience or a bit of adventure.

My Dad would be very envious.

Green with envy? Hard when I have no idea who Pete Townsend is.

Crikey..! Even the ones who call themselves older are getting younger. Can't believe FLT is saying his Dad would be envious. At 44, I would have thought he was just about old enough. :)

And I have to admit, I do find it hard to believe someone has not heard of Pete Townsend.

However, I wouldn't say I'm green with envy, Godders, but I hope you a nice time at least. :)
