Well as u went in May, I suppose I should adopt them too... even though they're crap.

They weren't crap though. Only a few years ago, they were the undisputed champions of their division. Up until 2010 they were making the play offs regularly.

I watched American Football for a few years in the 1980's. Went down to Toomers and bought Dan Marino's shirt. A reduced size to fit, of course. Put it on and still looked like a dork. Stayed up late every Monday night to watch a game. Watched every Superbowl for a few years, culminating in the New York Giants beating the Denver Broncos in 1986. Even got the official programme. I was trying really hard to stay interested, because the game really had its moments. But ultimately there was no emotional connection. I don't come from or live in the USA, although I do have distant relatives there. Better to go and get good at something myself rather than watch someone else doing something.

I know, so the guys at my HQ keep saying. The day I went they didn't even register a point. The nachos in the helmet were good though and the attractive young lady who kept asking me if I wanted another beer :)

<laugh> I think you mean run!

And they probably won't be crap in a few years. That farm system is stacked...two of the top five prospects in baseball in Buxton and Sano and several more B+ guys. Should probably think about trading Mauer, though; they'd be better off with players whose prime years will sync up, and he'll be on the downslope when the kiddies are ready.

Oh they won't. They have a shedload of talent. If they can sign some decent starting pitching in free agency they should be a decent team next year. Buxton is a massive talent. Hicks has played MLB this year, Arcia is also a big talent. Mauer won't be traded as he has a no trade clause in his contract that expires in 2017 or something like that.

Even though he's a hometown guy, I'd imagine that Mauer would waive his NTC if faced with 2-3 more years in the AL Central basement.

Maybe. I hope the Twins try to resign Morneau in free agency. He probably won't stay at Pittsburgh. If he chooses to sign elsewhere then fine, but the Twins should at least try to resign him.

He's a good stopgap at this point, but unfortunately little more...injuries really derailed his career, but he'd likely be a cheap re-sign. Sucks, had hopes that he'd be a Hall of Famer (with obligatory late-career cameo in Toronto).

He's still got tremendous power though, he's just more inconsistent these days. In his last Twins appearance he hit a massive home run into the second tier of the stand at Texas. He hit it well over 400 feet.

Yeah, but over the past three years his OPS+ is below league-average, which just isn't good enough for a first baseman. It's largely because he can no longer hit lefties...would make a solid platoon hitter, though.

Excellent, my copy of GTA5 has been dispatched. Wonder if it will arrive Monday now.

In the mean time, why don't you check out these films, you'd probably really like them:

Layercake
Spiderman 3
Blade Trinity
Van Helsing
Batman and Robin
Showgirls
The Love Guru

Layer Cake is a quality film. The rest however....
