True, we don't have an out and out RB but we do have players more than capable of playing there (cover for Johnson), maybe a RB in summer but unless the poor fella is out injured for the rest of the season, then that in my opinion (RB), isn't a priority position for Jan.
Wisdom, Kelly and Ilori are more than capable of stepping in if need be. For me RB cover isn't a major concern at all
if we don't count Kelly and Wisdom as RB, if you put them in the context of our centre backs who has to go, as too many. Skrtel and Coates?
Wisdom is one for the future, as is Ilori. But they can both step in for games if need. Johnson/Kelly--Toure/Sakho--Agger/Skrtel--Enrique/Cissokho Flanagan--Wisdom--Ilori--Robinson Wisdom would have gone out on loan if Johnson did not get injured.
surely thats not quite right. sahko is aggers replacement. both left sided. that is not to say thats what will happen. Johnson/Kelly Toure/skertl Agger/Sahko Enrique/Cissohko Wisdom and ilori are very close to my mind to be picks ahead of kelly and skertl... skertl is for the reasons of reodgers not liking him.
Replace our newly appointed vice captain who has been a popular main stay in our first team for several years? Nah. Initially I expect Toure and Agger will start. But once Sakho is settled and adjusted I expect to see him and Agger play together. People make to much fuss about the left sided thing. It wouldn't be seen as such an issue if they were both right sided. Carragher, Hyypia, and probably Toure have played on both sides comfortably through out their careers.
i would, just my opinion. popular and vice captain should not excuse mistakes and errors so agger needs to up his game. I still put him down first in my post so it's not like i said dump him nor did i say it was impossible to play two left footed CBs. For the record for the past 18 months i've said neither skertl nor agger nor carragher were top 4 players. now we've options they need to stand up or be replaced. just a point... skertl and kyrgiakos... hateful watching two player played on the wrong side of the ptich and were awful... carragher and skertl.. again skertl left side, not able. its up to sahko to try to take a place but for me i'd rather he take agger's slot than toures as toure has shown he can compete in the air and has pace.... if agger has hold him off it bodes well for his performances and ours. I can see ilori and sahko together within two years... up to ilori to force himself on unlike coates efforts.
