I'm feeling a bit better now JET, now that we seem to have been paid a little more than i'd expect for Buckley.
£600 000 profit actually! Not bad for a year's 'development' - and not bad for an inconsistent performer either.
I understand we was going to be selling at thats fine we all knew the clubs finances, what worries me the most is what kind of replacements is Malky going to be able to get in! Not feeling to optimisitic like i said i can feel it being a long summer...i just hope that Malky won't be next
I agree JET and share your concerns ,I think if the Don goes ,then that might be one too far , I think it fair to assume the ins will be Free transfers or lower league punts 1 Hope to god we can find another DG! If MM were to go that for the club would be devastating! purely because he has proved he is the best operator around on a tight budget!
A little disappointed that Buckley has gone. I feel as if we haven't yet seen his full potential. But, for a club like Watford FC, you can not say £600,000 profit over a year is a bad thing! That is fantastic! You can't really blame him for wanting a move. He wasn't exactly a regular, and at Brighton, he will be. It is a shame he is leaving, but I wish him all the best and am very glad we had an opportunity to watch him in a Watford shirt. I can see him being invaluable for Brighton next season.
Forgot to say, does this bode well for Matt Whichelow?! He looks very exciting, and has a great deal of potential. Was Will Buckley preventing him getting a proper run out?!
Hope so BBW He does look to have a lot of promise ,time to see if he can deliver next season I guess!
i have very high hopes for Matty this season, and for all the young kids that began playing at the end of the season.
I think Whichelow is the better player - not as quick as Buckley, but far more technically gifted and a better finisher. He's also markedly younger, so has far more potential. Im not particularly happy about losing Buckley, despite the fee being fair, but in Whichelow we have a ready-made replacement.
