Can't see Carroll playing as a holding midfielder...........he's an attacking centre mid as far as I know. Id go for this: ----------------------Green------------------------ Simpson---------Onouha-----Dunne-------------BAE ---------------Barton------Henry------------------- Hoilett---------------Carroll-----------------Kranjcar ----------------------Austin------------------------ I really wouldn't like to predict what Harry will do though.............could be any one of a few different possibilities imo.
I think we may well see Kranjcar in the line up and possibly BAE with Dunne playing again tonight making it an easy decision for Harry. But Carroll will probably be on the bench as he has not been training with the team due to international duties; and Matty Phillips unlikely to be ready yet. To be fair, why make wholesale changes to a winning format? Introduce them as they are ready and prepared. I would expect there to be a more definite chance of the newer players starting for the Yeovil match.
Makes sense too. I'd forgotten Dunne was playing again tonight. Probably see Clint at CB on Saturday then. As I said, Harry could do a number of different things. Still.....nice to have a squad that makes that possible eh?
I wouldn't change a winning team and the three new boys should only expect 30 mins max to bed in ... Madness if he changes it at the moment he should start unchanged if he can
I think the only changes from the starting 11 at Leeds will involve Richard Dunne, BAE and Hoilett. I don't expect Harry to make wholesale changes to a winning team. . Dunne will be knackered after playing twice in 4 days for Ireland and travelling back from Vienna. I expect BAE will start instead of Hill and he will move across into the middle to replace Dunne who will be given a rest. Green Simpson Onouha Hill BAE Barton Henry SWP Hoilett Johnson Austin I think all 3 deadline day signings will be on the bench. Not sure if Philips is ready.
The reason we should make changes is that, notwithstanding the good results, we haven't played well up to now.
We won't have to worry about Richard Dunne's availability after the next international break as he picked up his second yellow card tonight against Austria and is suspended for the game against Germany in October. Arrivaderci Trap. Austria won 1-0.Dunne played quite well. Good night Vienna.
We've played quite well imo without really getting anywhere near top gear. But I agree that players have been brought in to improve things, although I wouldn't have thought that Harry would make too many changes all at once.
Attacking wise away from home we haven't created many chances, but having said that we should have scored 2 or 3 more away at Leeds, however didn't I read somwhere that at home we have had more attempts at goal than anyone else in the league, it's just that the Sheff Wed keeper was inspired and the woodwork played a part against Ipswich.....It will come good and Charlie will break his league duck this Saturday.....
When you consider the starting line-ups for our last two away games.. ( Green, Simpson, Hill, Onouha, Dunne, Barton, Henry, O'Neil, SWP, Johnson, and Austin. ) Then we have seven players who never played for us last season who are the still finding their feet. It's quite remarkable that we have yet another team yet to 'gel' but have done as well as they have. I think it's important to not make changes for the sake of it. Continuity is key here. It's something as a club we have craved for some time. The new players will get their chance, but we really don't need too much upheaval so soon. Slowly slowly catchy monkey and all that.
Those new players are going to have nearly 2 weeks training with the squad If they are better than what we have got then they should be straight into the team Remember that we have scored 6 goals in 5 league games which is poor and only the defence has won us the games
Richard Dunne has put in a couple of tough international shifts (also picking up a couple of yellow cards) in the past week, so perhaps he should be rested from the starting line-up for Sat, i.e. on the bench?
Remember we are also playing at home on Tuesday....so Dunne certainly needs a rest. So the newbies will get plenty of time on the pitch in the next week. Was BAE on international duty? I know Cameroon won and qualified, was he away too....but even still I expect him to play with Hill moving inside. Kranchjar will get 20 minutes, but Carroll and Phillips wont. Carroll will come on on Tuesday
i am pretty sure Harry wants to play Carroll a lot, which was the reason why Carroll chose us. Also i think some one has pointed out that Kranchjar is not match fit. i would think he will play Carroll over Kranchjar. Bring on Saturday
No, he is not! Nines team from earlier looks most likely. What is getting exciting is the fact that in two or three games time, we will have a squad with competition, real competition, in every position (except RB).
