Sums up the Anti-Santa, for me. That he was referring to someone who had saved Chelsea from Bates' horrific mismanagement with his cash only added to the classlessness of the comment.

With Bates it's pretty much impossible to find anything 'nice' to say. The random collection of cells brought to you in the guise of a human being that is Bates is far more the traditional 'knight' material.

Also with Fergie he has shown acts of kindess, notably with Darren Fletcher and his illness, so there is a good man behind all the anger and arrogance.

4. I doubt any man on the face of this planet is worse than Mad Dog.

I read somewhere that he's just spent a few £million on buying the cliff-top palace that used to be the home of an infamous Roman tyrant emperor. Now, who the hell would do that unless they had an interest in having babies thrown over the wall and to watch their innocent little bodies be dashed to pieces on the rocks far below?

Despicable man!

Not really sure I understand your disapproval.

This was the original pleasure palace. In the sumptuous gardens, young men and women dressed as nubile nymphs and coquettish Pans openly prostituted themselves to guests in woodland 'lechery nooks' beneath the stars.
Inside the imperial cliff-top villa, fortified by the finest food and wines served by nude handmaidens, wanton licence took hold. Troupes of beautiful youths of both sexes, gathered from all corners of the Roman world and trained in unusual sexual practices, reclined in vast marble halls ready to excite the elderly Emperor's flagging libido.
Known as spintriae, their role was to perform erotic sexual practices in groups before the head of the empire - a man who was commonly known by his subjects as 'the old goat'.
Many of the lavish regal rooms were furnished with pornography and explicit sex manuals from Egypt - in case any of their number was unsure precisely what was expected of them.
In a private chamber, the Emperor indulged his most obscene desires to the full. He had little boys trained as minnows or 'tiddlers' to chase him when he went swimming in the imperial pool, nibbling between his legs.
This was the royal residence at Capri, where Tiberius the Tyrant lived a life of extraordinary debauchery. For more than a decade in the early part of the first century AD, this picturesque Italian island was the principal home of the Roman emperor.
Here, he practised lechery and bloodlust in equal measure, hosting endless summer orgies and watching his enemies being tortured before being thrown 300ft off the cliffs into the sea below.
Two thousand years later, Tiberius's villa could be about to fall into the hands of another famous Roman - the equally powerful but distinctly less deviant owner of Chelsea Football Club, Roman Abramovich. The Russian billionaire is said to have set his heart on buying a £21million cliff-top castle on Capri.

Nice of those involved to turn up an make some money for charity. <ok>

Agbonlahor, who might want to give Hodgson a ring and remind him that he's available, took the opportunity to boot some kid out of a boyband:

He's now received about a million death threats on social media from rabid underage girls! <laugh>

No, he's just a pretty dubious individual. Look up the things that he's admitted to being involved in and the amount of stuff he's been accused of.
He should be ok as long as he doesn't piss off Putin, though.

Willian says he joined Chelsea because David Luiz called him, Roman Abramovich is good friends with departing Anzhi chairman Suleyman Kerimov, and that he wants to be playing regularly in a World Cup year.

...which poses the following questions:
i.) He was a first-team player Shakhtar and Anzhi, so why wasn't he a Brazil regular?
ii.) Does this mean Sandro and Paulinho don't have his phone number?
iii.) He didn't take any hints from what happens to a club when its mega-rich Russian owner gets bored?
iv.) Does he really think we're that stupid?

16. Willian sounds like a real nasty piece of work, well suited to the Chavs.

I'm actually glad we didn't get him, as I see him being a trouble-maker, long-term.

17. There is a thread currently running on the Gooners' board in which they are seriously debating whether or not they will challenge for the title this season! Utterly unbelievable!

A Mouser (I think he's called Kops and Robbers - make of that what you will) has waded into the debate by telling the Gooners that AFC is "not that far behind us (ie 'Pool) in terms of challenging for the title."
<doh>

I am not making this up! Go and read it for yourselves.

They've bought one class player (who has yet to play a match, let alone prove himself in the Prem), and already the numpties have themselves down as world-beaters!

Delusion heaped high upon delusion.

Actually, I'm going to be generous to them and try to believe that the article has been written as a joke, or perhaps as a reverse-wum. So many of their articles read like that, these days.

I think you should reread KnR, he is saying the opposite, that Arsenal are only just ahead of Pool and only in the race for top 4, and no chance of the title.

The Gooners are getting very excited about their prospects, and who knows maybe Ozil will make a huge difference. If we are honest, I think we are all expecting Utd to be less than they were last year and the next 4 were close together. Would only take a small improvement by City, Chelsea, Arsenal or us, to be right up there challenging for the title. I think we need another season and the other 4 will be very close IMO, so I understand them being hopeful. Personally think it's between Chelsea and City but if I were a gooner, I'd be hopeful. We need to hope one of them disappoints and we can storm through the second half of the season to get 3rd/4th.

19. Okay, but I am not going to let what was actually said get in the way of my argument.
