Mainly due to your last 10 game run,up until then your defence was very dodgy

  2. I don't begrudge the Gonners their little bit of excitement. There was a point during that TW when it really did look like they would sign no one of note. Fortunately for them, at the 11th Hour, Ozil took pity and decided he'd give them a go. Sure, if he is a success in the PL (and that is a very big "if" at the moment), he'll be pushing for a transfer to £ity or Chavs, but be that as it may, I for one am not going to scoff at the Gooners' excitement. We'd been able to express that excitement 7 times during the TW, after all, lads.

We didn't sign anyone from Lille.

And yes, at least a couple are half (or even more than half) the player Ozil is. ****ing ridiculous, zero footballing knowledge comment.

  6. Ozil is good, no doubting that, but I don't see him as being any better than Lamela or Eriksen.

All the Gooners and Chavs creaming their pants believing that, somehow, Whinger "got one over on" Levy are going to be greatly disappointed, come Xmas, when the penny finally drops on what us Spurs already know, namely that they didn't need Ozil, and that he can't paper over the cracks of a weak defence and paper-thin squad.

When AVB gets our boys to gel, the mighty Spurs juggernaut will be unstoppable.

True, and he's had a year to manage most of his players, unlike at Chelsea. Few things would make me happier than to be wrong, and for Spurs to get a CL spot this year. But this year is a big ask.

    A bit misleading.

Utd let in plenty in the first 15 or so matches and 5 at WBA in a meaningless 5-5 draw on the final day. In the 20 odd games in between the defence hardly put a foot wrong and City were left standing. The stats don't always tell the story of how things unfold.

You must be on the wind up? You don't see Ozil (widely accepted as one of the best players in the world and a key part of the Madrid set-up over the last few years and Germany team) as any beter than Eriksen or Lamela? Wtf have either of those two done to be considered as good as Ozil? Total nonsense. How can you expect to be taken seriously?

I get your point but to have the second best defensive record in the league would suggest that all this stuff about howleaky our defence is, is maybe blown out of proportion? We had a period at the start of lastseason where we had a very error prone back 4. Sagna has now recovered his form and fitness post-leg break (two leg breaks in a row) and we dropped Vermaelen - since those two things happened we have had a very strong defensive unit.

Somethign which is also very noticable is how much better Arsenal defend as a team now. The Arteta-Ramsey partnership has good defensive qualities and they seem to give the back 4 more protection than they have been given in recent times.

He doesn't. But people like you bite all the time, which is music to HIAG's ears!

  14. Why? Because I'm saying something that you don't agree with?

Ozil is untested in the Prem. Just because he may, in your opinion, have been class in the Spanish league doesn't mean he'll be class in the Prem. After all, he was surrounded by class players at Real, he isn't at Arsenal, so he's going to have to carry your team more, and he may not be very good at carrying teams.

Nothing to do with you disagreeing - people disagree with me all the time!

It's more to do with the fact it was a blatant wind-up.

And i'm sure you're still on the wind up now tbh. You say you think Ozil is no better than Lamela or Eriksen (despite Ozil having proved his worth in two of the top 5 leagues in europe and for his international team) and then say the reason behind this is that Ozil is untested in the league? Because Eriksen and Lamela have had tons of premiership experience.....

And he wasn't class "in my opinion" he was class fullstop. If you don't think Ozil has been class in Spain then your just a peanut. Also to help educate you, he was also class at Bremen in Germany. Your clutching at straws. And if you believe the stuff you type you need help!

  16. So, is that the entirety of your argument, insulting me?

You might not know this, but personal insults are now viewed extremely dimly on this board and are likely to earn you a banning.

Oh, and by the way, you should have used the word "you're" and not "your." Also, your use of the word "just" is redundant in that sentence, with "you're a peanut" sufficing.

If you are going to purport to "educate" me in anything, I suggest that you, firstly, get yourself an education.

Hang on... don't you call all Chelsea fans 'chavs' and Arsenal fans 'gooners'...? Or are they endearingly used terms?? <confused>

In what way is calling all Arsenal fans "Goons" personal? It barely even passes for offensive.

  19. Cini65, making a generic reference to Goons, Chavs and/or Mousers, as a class, is a far cry from singling out an individual Goon, Chav or Mouser and insulting him. The former will not, and should not be permitted, whereas the latter is.

If you cannot see that, then you are a complete and utter twa... er... I mean, nice man.
