If Snoddy or Gradel go...we're going to need back up on the wings. I always thought Watt had alot of potential despite doubting he'll ever play for the senior Arsenal side. He's spent the last year and a bit in Leeds so do you think presented with a contract with his name and the Leeds badge on it, he'd sign it? or do you think he still believes he has a chance at arsenal. I just can't except that he'd want to play for the Arsenal reserves in front of a couple of hundred people at most instead of 27,000+ in the Championship. What you guys makes of it.

I can't see any reason why not. He'd be good backup like you say for Snodgrass, Howson, Gradel and Nunez. Won't be getting any chances at Arsenal who by all accounts are being told to spend big this summer and get star names in.

I wouldn't be happy with him as a replacement for Snoddy or Gradel though - a) for me it would need to be a permanent transfer not a loan deal and b) he doesn't come close to those two for quality - we could do better. Good supersub/reserve to have but nothing more than that in my opinion. Doubt he'd be much better than Sam or Nunez if he were asked to play 90 minutes a game for 40 odd matches next season.

It would not surprise me if we went for him again.

My only frustration he looked a little lightweight in the midfield .... granted he got little protection from a tough tackling "Batty/Vinne" to look after him.

Great skill and i think in a division where he got more time on the ball would be very good.

Would like to see Watt back again think he could come good but do agree he will never make it at Arsenal.Would really like if we made a big effort to get Lichaj to return. But with Villa getting a new manager that could prove ackward.

I think he was quality. He never really got too much of a chance to shine, with only sub appearances near the end of a game, and a few starts - which he impressed in. At the start of the season, when Gradel was banned and Snoddy injured, Watt and Sam did really well. Personally, I think Watt makes better decisions than Gradel, who can be greedy and pick the wrong option at times.

I think Lloyd Sam is a quality player, but Sanchez Watt just a back up.

Would anyone have Doyle back? I would.

No, he had no class on the ball and his defensive work was League One standard at the best of times. He did a job (just), but we should be looking higher than below-average Coventry players.

Wouldnt take Doyle back, but the DM position needs to be filled. Jack cork would be perfect but I cant see us outbidding anyone for him.

Lets hope the pull of ER & tradition of LUFC helps us IF we put a bid in for him!

Jack Cork held talks with Stoke's chief executive Tony Scholes over the weekend whilst Tony Pulis was on holiday in Paris. Negotiations have stalled until Pulis is back and will start again towards the end of the week. No meeting has been pencilled in as of yet.

Jack will be visiting Leeds and Southampton for talks before returning to Stoke and making his final decision. He is looking for guarantees of first team football.

Just checked and it's off that football-rumours.co.uk site. I wouldn't take it too seriously, people will link Grimsby Town with David Villa on there if they get the chance. They like to throw in phrases like "exchange deal" and "add-ons" to make it look more authentic too. <laugh>

I'd say everywhere is about as reliable as everywhere else. It's silly season, take everything with a pinch of salt. Either way, there could be something to it, and I'd rather be hopeful than dismiss it if this is the kind of player we need.

Personally I like him but I like Lloyd Sam better, he is a great player for us and I hope SG isn't a tw at and starts freezing players out again. Jack Cork sounds like a good player too. However, wuality players will evaporate as Papa Smurf wants to hug his reddies....

Sam wasn't frozen out. He got injured early season, couldn't get back in the team because of Snodgrass and Gradel being on fire, then got injured shortly before those 2 started to tire. I too thought he'd been left out for no good reason but it turns out I was wrong and our backup wingers were out with injury. It's a shame because Sam is pure class.

Sam and Nunez will be decent backup for both of the wide positions, there's no need for Watt really as long as we keep Snoddy and Gradel. There'd be no harm in loaning Watt in but we can't guarantee him first team football and I'm sure that's what he'll be looking for. Plus McCormack can play out on the left if injuries/suspensions really take their toll.

I wouldn't mind Emmanuel Frimpong on loan for the DM position. He looks a class young player. Strong and powerful as well...we seemed quite weak on the ball last season, especially against Sheff Utd. Even our CB's looked weak against strikers.
