Curious to see my comments regarding Arsenal dismissed quite so readily. I think it's quite telling that there has been a lack of marque signings and it did cross my mind during the summer at just how the community of football players now view Wenger. True, they have been consistent but they have now gone a long time without silverware and , in my opinion, appear to have been treading water for way too long. I can really see them dipping out. Liverpool seem to be improving and Spurs seem to be the most likely club in London to challenge Chelsea. It just seems to me that a point must be reached whereby Arsenal will start slipping. I can't see Wenger ever returning to his glory days when it is fair to say he revolutionised football in this country and the only other direction is downwards. I agree that they will never drop below top 6th or 7th but , man for man, you would have to say that the squad Southampton how now assembled has the potential to break in to the top ten and give teams like Arsenal a run for their money. Over taking them is not as ridiculous as it may seem. I just have the suspicion that the latest results have papered over the cracks.
I agree with most of this Ian. Arsenal have a dangerously thin squad if he doesn't reinforce but I'm pretty sure he will. If he does I'll be very surprised but thrilled if we finished above them!
After watching all the highlights I thought est Ham looked pretty poor asdid Fulham. Eraly days but can see them both struggling!
Sunderland got a good point against us, but I'm beginning to think that di Canio has a lot of work to do there. I thought they would be okay before the season started. However, still too early to say.

OK so the window is shut and who is better or worse off? West Broms deals looked strange to me. I don't rate Sessegnon and Anichebe particularly highly so to let Long go surely weakens them.

We won't go down, but for a two yard miss from Gouffran in the last minute against West Ham we'd be joint top.Only four games in so too early to predict who will go down. I honestly don't think people realise how detrimental the Europa League is to a teams domestic form.
We have good depth in defence and midfield, we are light up front but no worse than Swansea, West Ham, Villa, Southampton etc, basically the teams we're likely to be in a mini league with.
Worth remembering that Dai seems to believe that there are 12-14 relegation spots; he makes more than the occasional tour of the Prem fora to inform people that they're going down.
