Flamini provides us with one more DM than we had last season when we finished miles ahead of Liverpool.

It looks like there's going to be a battle royal between Arsenal, Spurs and United

For 6th place <laugh>

Original reports said 180k, but that was media sensationalising the transfer. Since then we have been given several figures in between 115k and 135k p/w

No love for Arteta? I'd pick him over Flamini or Ramsey in the middle. Either way Ozil's a great signing, congrats.

You have to piss yourselves with laughter, the gooners make one very poor valued signing, and they think they are kings of the world. <doh>

Ozil for £42m is a poor valued signing that makes you piss yourself with laughter? He's one of the best players in the world. Truely World Class. You lot where convinced Suarez was worth bloody loads but Ozil is poor value at just over 40m? You couldn't make it up.

I think of all the positions they had to improve in, attacking midfield wasn't one of them.

But what it does do is improve our AM spot as Ozil is better than any other midfielder we have in our team. And that also frees up Cazorla to play LWF which was a position we needed to strengthen. So although directly it may not seem like an area we needed to strengthen, it has resulted in us improving an area we did need to strengthen and improving our first 11.

There's no doubt he would improve any teams first 11, except for maybe Madrid or Barca. However cant help but think that Arsenal really needed to shore up the defensive side, with maybe a DM and CD.
Ozil will help you score more goals but you have done nothing in terms of strengthening your main area of weakness in your team, which means you will still drop points in games you probably should have won.

After eventually signing a player you show up.

Ozill was worth 40m when he signed for Madrid, that was years ago. Have you been watching Madrid, Ozil is a very good player but you definitely overpaid for him
<laugh>

Let's face it, if his Madrid career was going so well why would they let him go?

Especially as they said NO to a few offers for other members of their midfield, for similar (maybe slightly less) amounts of money.

No doubt he is quality and will provide goals and assists, but SURELY a striker and reinforcements at the back were needed first.

1 player doesn't make a team, so it's a bit of a gamble as to how much influence he'll have. Don't get me wrong I'd love him at Liverpool but we have a world class striker to match, whereas Arsenal don't.

Anyone know what wages Ozil will be on??

A reported £140,000 a week for 5 years. The bastard.

A lot of your fans don't seem to want him back in the team

I think you'll find that the majority of our fans are having to come to terms with him being a fantastic footballer but a **** as a human being. However, he's our ****. When he does come back he'll receive all the support he needs.
