He didn't even slightly push him out, which is why he's still a WBA player.

    You bid 5m for him.

Clarke wanted to see if he got his targets.

He didn't (only managed one striker, missed out on Lukaku).

Clarke didn't want him to go.

Like you said, i'm not sure what part is hard to understand.

Yes, he didn't want to leave, but Clarke almost pushed him out. I'm not sure what part of that is hard to understand.

The part where Long was at Hull doing his medical.

Considering there is about a 6 hour gap, I think you are clutching at straws with that idea. Clearly them joining had an influence on Long's future.

Because he was told he could go to another ****ing club, and then it turns out Clarke pulled out the deal at the eleventh hour (literally), meaning him leaving the Ireland squad was for nothing if only to show him going down the pecking order at WBA. What is so hard to understand there?

Why is he down the pecking order at WBA? Anichebe was the only striker they managed to bring in, they also wanted Lukaku but missed out. Which is why Clarke pulled the plug on the deal.

You're probably deluded because you have a Hull bias, but I can't see what's difficult to understand.

I think we should kneecap half the West Brom squad as payback.

I'm sure carmine can sort that.

Three reasons: Anelka, Sessegnon and Anichebe.

If he had faith in Long, he would not have brought in all three.

I'm not continuing this argument, as you'll never get it into your head.

    Goodnight.

And you have a Leicester bias, and enjoy winding up Hull fans, what the **** do you expect us to say?

As many have said: WBA have brought in Anelka, Anichebe and Sessegnon who can all play striker, Long was down the pecking order, we made a bid, West Brom accepted, he was in Hull doing a medical, but is now being told that it didn't go through because West Brom couldn't get another striker, so he stays as an insurance policy!

    Sessegnon the midfielder? <laugh>

Anelka is 34 now, pretty sure he's not going to be playing every week and Anichebe will most likely be his strike partner. Anelka and Vydra will rotate.

What argument? Shane Long (according to you) is West Brom's main striker.

Don't watch much of Sunderland? Sessegnon has played as a lone striker for them regularly.

    He hasn't.

    He's played behind the striker.

Usually Fletcher, last season he played behind Graham.

Ahh, schadenfreude. What keeps Leicester fans going...

But you have an obvious point, just not illustrated for any purpose other than spitefulness, insomnia, irregular work patterns or unemployment. Ostensibly they kept Long because a deal fell through, they might also have done so because they see us as relegation rivals. Either way, we lost out. For all HCAFC fans, let's be rational, see what the strikers we have can do against upcoming opposition, and remain optimistic in our knowledge that the spine of our team can compete with most teams in the prem. I think he'd be more pissed than disappointed. The fact that he flew from Ireland to Hull, go through a medical and wait a good 2-3 hours waiting at the training ground just waiting for Clarke to give the go ahead only for him to say no at last minute
