my last post was directly from the BBC. No official confirmation from either club that the deal is off...

I don't want to attach myself to this circus show but The Telegraph last reported it could still be on.

Edit - they've changed their minds.

West Brom fans aren't happy either. They've spent £6m on Anichebe and their manager has likely just upset their main striker beyond the point of no return.

I think their anger is directed at their Chairman. Just been on their version of Citymad and some not exactly happy bunnies at letting Odemwingie go either.

Why do you assume that Shane Long is gutted about missing out? Has he tweeted about it? Did he put in a transfer request?

Because Clarke clearly has no faith in him because he instantly agreed a deal with us as soon as Anichebe and Sessegnon became available.

Would you be happy in his shoes if you wanted to be playing football?

I doubt you'd be a happy bunny if you left Dublin, went to Hull and back again in one evening, and not something out of it.

Plus, knowing your club sees you as expendable won't be a great feeling, i bet.

How can they get a deal through once the window is closed because of intent to sign while the windows open?

Didn't DJ Campbell's move to Blackburn get put off because they were 2 minutes late finalising the paperwork?

This is a load of rubbish. Except its not, because someone's just robbed West Brom of £6 million <laugh>

If you submit the appropriate paperwork - NOT the finalised contract - that counts as intent to sign and can then be finalised up until 1am your time. I assume DJ's wasn't in that case.

probably just made that up so Man utd can get their transfers ratified.

Who says it wasn't the other way around?

You enquired for Long and then Clarke went out for those as replacements? You're just guessing.

If he wanted to leave he would have submitted a transfer request.

Either that or he thought that his loyalty bonus was worth more than a move to Hull.

I think in WBA's case, the paperwork wasn't submitted in time. They claimed that they had intent to sign and it's gone through.

The first mentions of Long were around 6pm. Anichebe and Sessegnon's moves had been touted around lunchtime.

That surely would upset him more, as he didn't ask to leave?

AKCJ why do you even bother coming on a Hull City forum, Ever since I've joined I've only seen you slate Hull time and time again....

You need to read more then <ok>

What does that prove? That's just the times the stories were leaked.

Why? He didn't want to leave (no transfer request) and in the end he didn't. Why would he be disappointed?? I think you're just hoping/guessing that he is.

Yes, he didn't want to leave, but Clarke almost pushed him out. I'm not sure what part of that is hard to understand.
