I think the same people who try and run their competitors out of business in the business world are ****s also. There's nothing wrong with a bit of healthy competition. The difference in football is that their is something called good sportsmanship, it's an unwritten code of conduct that separates the gentlemen from the scumbags. Levy is most definitely the latter.

Allegedly our interest In Di Maria is cooling.

Chelsea want a loan fee of £3M for Ba. Also couple of other clubs interested.

A signing like Ozil will help us attract other top players, it shows we can spend big and buy top talent still and really shows our intent. I can't wait to see it finally confirmed!

Ozil has had 64 assists in the past 3 seasons, this guy is a better creative player than Fabregas, not only have we finally replaced Fabregas, we have gotten someone better.

I was wondering (read hoping) that maybe one of the factors that swung Ozil are way is that we told him there are other players we are hoping to sign before the window shuts and that tempted him to signing, which in turn will tempt other big targets. A miracle domino effect if you will.

Yep. If there's any chance we can get him we should go full tilt to make it happen.

Yes I'm thinking we will bring in 2 big names (Ozil and Di Maria probably) as well as a couple more squad players.

Maybe Demba Ba or Abel Hernandez and that Spanish keeper.

I reckon the World Cup year is more of a factor. Playing in one of the most competitive leagues for a top club and manager like Arsenal, will make the German selectors take note. He will also be guaranteed starter and florish under Wenger's system of play.

There is no "unwritten code" in football - it's a business.
As for "healthy competition," the problem is it eats into your profit margin.

Levy is not a footballer, he is a businessman, and a ridiculously good, sharp and shrewd one too. Having him running the board at Arsenal would be an instant huge upgrade on the shambles it is presently. He is the primary reason for Spurs upsurgence in recent seasons.

It's also a ridiculous gross exaggeration to compare Levy trying to hinder Arsenal signing Ozil to "running a competitor out of business."

United have offered 36 for Herrera
Herrera will have to pass medical and United pay it all in cash but deal practically done

    It's called 'Good Sportmanship'

The primary reason for Spurs improvement has been Gareth Bale.

The analogy was a basis for his attitude towards his competitors.
