Oh yeah, I missed the drama earlier today so I wanna hear all about it. Give me all the juicy goss.
 
Basically, it appears that earlier there was an Osvaldo chant thread. Within that CBK expressed strong views on the post, as had others. The general consensus seemed quite negative and CBK reciprocated this. I believe the comment was "crap".

From this point, Beddy posted (in his red font), stating that CBK was disrespecting the new poster, which suspiciously was a new account with its only support covering from a few other new accounts. From what I saw, he just said he thinks a chant is crap, I'm not sure how that's overly disrespectful. Certainly not deserving of Beddy telling CBK that he old he doing people a favour by quitting the forum. CBK defended his stance.

It was on continuation of this point that Beddy reiterated that he said would be left with no choice but for CBK to be banned if it continued, because his behaviour was upsetting people. Apparently numerous complaints have been made to the moderation team? I'm not quite sure you guys would be unaware of the issue if this is the case. I've not seem CBK get personal like other users so am not entirely sure as to why he has been threatened with a ban. Far worse has gone under the radar in the past.

Overall, it just seemed a bit of a quick fire and trigger-happy response that caused more issues than it has solved. In my opinion, of course.

EDIT: I also thought Beddytare was no longer a moderator. To my mind, the moderators are TSS, Qwerty, St Brendy and ChannonFodder. In fact, it was confirmed in this thread, that Beddy was no longer going to do it: http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...nging-up-his-boots?highlight=qwerty+moderator

Sometimes I know people want to ban apparent wums immediately they appear but the more detail I can gather and verify the easier it is to identify them. The more they think they have a free reign the more detail I gain. The multiple accounts earlier today were only caught because of my usual patience of waiting and hiding in the shadows, while the newbie was posting link after link that you the users could not see...but it meant instead of just banning one wum I gained two, including capturing every aspect and their precise location for future reference.
 
Yeah, I call people's comments "crap" like all the time.

If it's simply that enough complaints will warrant a ban, then surely we could all pick the most mundane, inoffensive comment we could find, complain about it, and Beddy would then threaten the poor poster with a ban? Just because a few people got "upset" that doesn't mean they're right to be upset. Maybe they're just soft twats.

OK, I hear it. I think a little stepping away from the blue touch paper, aka a keyboard, may be in order for all quarters. Mods and Rockers. We are all members after all.
