just read a tweet that apparently our new stadium will be called "The Nike Stadium", with Nike paying for it, in the world's biggest sponsorship deal.

Really?! <laugh>

Like.

I have nightmares about it being name "Durex Stadium" on the "Wonga-used-to-be-white-hart-lane stadium" or some bollocks. Nike is very inoffensive, also goddess of victory and from the statues - quite fit.

Having dated a Greek, I can tell you that "Ny-kee" is the proper pronunciation.

Dated a Greek! so I take it you found out how to say it as you used your new trainers to escape from her brothers. <laugh>

Anyway I am married to a Greek and I can tell you that the Greek pronounciation is Neege (using the nearest equivelant English letters.) KneeGee

Well I am a Greek and I say that it's pronounced M'kay, like the teacher's catchphrase in South Park.
Not really, but I wanted to join in the one-upmanship. <nahnah>

Nike rhymes with bike, dike, hike, like, spike and strike. And that's the poetry lesson of the day.
