Not really. The papers have been saying all along that Mourinho wanted the United job but United didn't want him. That's why they said he was snubbed. It is clear from Ferguson's statements that he was involved in choosing Moyes. SAF and United just didn't want to have someone who is so impulsive and brings the reputation of clubs he manages into question.
It will probably appear in March when the traffic lights change in Wilmslow.................but wait you're in Guilford
So no links then Not surprised. I guess you lot still think Jose wasn't fired by Roman the first time around.
Those same papers who have been saying we've been offering Mata on a plate to Trafford and they've been rejecting him? Lol. The only reason Trafford would have said no to Mourinho would be if Ferguson instructed them not to. That's why he stayed on at the club, so that he still has a huge amount of influence over it. He knows that Jose with Man Utd has the capability to surpass and completely eclipse his success and doesn't want his legacy to become second best so soon, especially not by the manager who immediately succeeds him and was fierce rivals with, having been the man to knock him out of his final European game and essentially send him into retirement. Ferguson would much rather have a fellow Scotsman employed who can obtain a respectable amount of success and nothing more. The last thing Ferguson would want is to be lying on his deathbed and seeing Mourinho lift Man Utd's 34th Premier League and 5th Champions League trophies.
Pure fairy tale. Jose himself said that Ferguson is very friendly with him. So much so that he told him that he had retired but that he (SAF) did not tell him who the club had chosen to be the next manager. From JM himself you couldn't have been more emphatic... Anyway, Jose being snubbed by the greatest club in the country is your gain, isn't it?
Jose said he never considered the united job when he was asked by bacon face to replace him, he said he got more pleasure beating you. I guess his record against you plastics stands for itself Ferguson had spoken to Guardiola on a couple of occasions in New York recently, with his own job said to be one of the issues under discussion. Again can you please post a link where SAF or Utd admitted offering the job to Jose but being turned down? Also according to the Mail (and I applaud your bravery for using this as your sole piece of evidence to back up your pathetic argument) 'Ferguson is believed to have spoken to Guardiola on a couple of occasions in New York recently, with his own job said to be one of the issues under discussion.' Great piece of journalism and that's the basis for your claim Moyes was 4th choice behind all the others! please log in to view this image
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...s-Sir-Alex-Ferguson-knew-Chelsea-job-him.html Saffa sounded Jose out about the job many months ago, why else would he confide in Mourinho amount something only gill and his wife knew about. Desperation appointment Moyes only knew about Saffa retiring days before the announcement
You really don't grasp the concept of proof. Okay I can play that game, Utd were approached last Nov by Jose who begged them to offer him the job of replacing SAF. However they told him to piss off hence Bobby Charlton's comments in the press soon after.
Precisely LoECW. Plastics will never accept it even if the drunken scot wrote it himself. If Jose knew, which he did he'd have been offered it for sure. Then Pep turned them down then Ancelotti.
I thought Chelsea fans were the accepted plastic fans Even at the press conference Mourinho was asked whether he regretted not having been offered the United job. He evaded the question and tried not to lose face by saying "Chelsea Chelsea". The Chelsea fans have to face the facts. Mourinho has never been offered the United job. He would have been the first to shout over the rooftops if he had turned down the biggest club in the country. He could have retorted to the 'snub' insult by saying he had been offered the job by United. Or even taking the papers to court
Moyes was not even offered the job til May. Strange that, when Saffa told his family at Xmas, Gill in Jan and Jose in Feb. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/jul/05/david-moyes-manchester-united After 27 years, saffa gave United plenty of time to find a replacement, they could not get anyone so plumped for Moyes last minute. If Moyes was first choice, ferguson would have confided in him instead of Jose in Winter. The Jose-chelsea deal was done, schools sorted for kids etc, so United went for Klopp And carlo
Just speculation really. The only fact that we know is that ferguson chose Moyes and not Mourinho. Everything else is just everyone else speculating and getting it wrong
RA had tried many other managers including pep and Klopp according to the papers. It was only when they turned him down that he swallowed his pride and reappointed a man he had sacked before...
According to "the papers" Chelsea have tried to sign every player over 5 years old who has ever put his boots on, every manager from every team in every country, we've bought Battersea power station, Earls Court, C and W Hospital, and every building bigger than a football pitch, and yet apart from 3 players, none of it is true. That's why I don't put much faith in what "the papers" say. As for who manages Chelsea and Man Utd, I'll just state that I rather like it the way it is now.
