Not surprising really I had been wondering why the papers used the term 'snubbed by United' on Sunday
And told him just days before he retired as Moyes said. I wonder why he left it so late to tell Moyes he was retiring, but told Jose months before. Answers on a postcard please. It is not rocket science why he told Jose before Moyes, You'll figure it out
And even Jose said categorically that Ferguson did not reveal to him who they were appointing or thinking of appointing. Seems very very far away from "I met Fergie who could have been offering me a job..." Why can't (a few) Chelsea fans accept that whilst Mourinho may be suited to the short term nature of Chelsea's job (constant swaps and sackings under Roman A's impulsive and impatient ownership), he is not to united's long term strategy for their manager.
because Mourinho himself said Fergie did not reveal to him who the new manager was (and not " Fergie came to ask me to consider the United job")
I don't believe you and you can't back it up either. If Jose knew before most it was because Fergie was offering it, then Carlo then Pep! Seems no one wanted the poison chalice.
Again where is the proof that Jose and Carlo and indeed others were offered the job? You continually fail to offer any quotes from any people including Utd officials where it is admitted that others were approached before Moyes.
And you also fail to provide any trustworthy links to prove your argument. Just keep saying it and in time you will think its true but don't forget we know the truth.
Brilliant! I have published several quotes from Carlo in which he stated he was never approached and was never offered the Utd job but still you ignore these! I have published links from last December in which a director at Utd said that Mourinho was not cut out to be the manager of Manchester United. I have asked you time and time again for some proof, actual proof in the form of an admission etc that these people or indeed Utd, that they were asked to take over from SAF at OT and repeatedly you have failed to produce anything expect silly comments from rag publications from home and abroad which do not contain any actual quotes upholding your argument. The fact is there is no proof out there that SAF turned only to Moyes after all other targets turned him down. But hey if you want to live in a delusional world, go right ahead. It's quite amusing.
For sure Ferguson and Mourinho do get on and there is a clear respect from one to the other, but they're still rivals and he would never have wanted someone like Mourinho with all his arrogance, charisma and showmanship to replace him and potentially surpass him. Not even in his wildest dreams. Ferguson wants to be the one and only and this way he has ensured that he gets his wish. Yes of course I am glad that Mourinho came to us instead. It means we will win a lot more and Trafford will win a lot less.
Someone finally caught on! There is none that I know of! I was making the point (very badly it seems) that anyone can make stupid claims on an internet forum proclaiming something and show no proof to back it up. It seems some of your fellow Chelsea supporters however don't understand that and continue to claim Moyes was 4th choice but fail to show any evidence for this assertion. I'm expecting them to say soon the absence of proof is not the proof of absence.
Sure. That is why the theory that Ferguson of all people (with his ego and record) would have gone to offer Mourinho a job does not hold any water.
They will stick to their theories. But what they don't want to accept is that Mourinho who they think is the first choice for every top club in the world, was sacked by the owners of Chelsea FC. Roman went round the houses to try to appoint the likes of Pep, Klopp, and many others and then when they turned the juicy offer down, he humiliatingly had to reappoint a man he previously dismissed unceremoniously.
