If it makes you feel better, I've thought of a bench aswell: Ruddy, Bassong, Fer, Snodgrass, Wolfpenis.

Such a strong bench that you thought you'd forgo the option to include a sixth and seventh sub eh? ;)

I thought Norwich would be relegation fodder this season, after the way you finished last season, but you have bought some good players into the team with Wolfy, Redmond and Fer, to go along with Snodgrass and Pilkington, so changed my opinion into a side that should be aiming at 10th-13th this season.
Hard game to predict, i would be very disappointed to come away empty handed from this match, but certainly wouldnt put money on us winning either.

I just tried to come up with an attempt at a (as unbiased as I could be) combined Canaries/Saints XI and this is what I got:

Ruddy

Clyne - Lovren - Bassong - Shaw

Wanyama - Fer

Snodgrass - Osvaldo - Lallana

The Wolf

5 Canaries
6 Saints

Largely looks good to me but Van Wolfswinkel over Lambert, no way José! Also not sure about Fer over Schneiderlin, but the sheer prospect of the power of a midfield consisting of Wanyama and Fer means I'll let you get away with that one. Also I'd rather have Redmond over Snodgrass but since they're your players I suppose you can have that. ;)

The strikers were the toughest choices for me. I really like Lambert - it's a bit of a toss up between him and RvW really.

Wanyama and Fer in the middle would be ridiculous!

Wolf, The Wolf, RVW, Van Whatshisname, Wolfpenis, Wolfy; is it fair to say that this guy should just opt for a Brazilian style monicker and call himself Dave?

I imagine we'll be referring to him more even more colourfully if he doesn't score more than a few goals this season.

We finished the season strongly - the really bad patch was post Christmas to the end of March. But I get what you mean.

I personally think we'll be lucky to finish top 13 - I'm going to say 14th... Too many teams have strengthened and while I completely agree that we're very pleased with the signings, I fear they do not have enough time to gel what with all our injuries. I think Saints will end up about 12th.

I would be very surprised if Saints win this match though and if they do it will be 0-1 (we only conceded more than 1 goal to teams in the bottom half twice last season), like against Hull. I still can't see how we're going to get many goals though, what with all the key players only just back from injury. I'd say 1-1 is the most likely result. If we win I have no doubt there will be lots of shouts about how lucky we were from the media, as per...
