The sun have clearly looked at Ozil's current wages and just made that story up, I'd be very surprised if he wanted to come to Emirates
From the look on Wengers face it's clear he is trying to sign players - However the BIG clubs all know we have money to spend (because we bragged about it) and are now demanding extremely high fees. We seem to be after a playmaker and the likes of Ozil & Gundogan have been mentioned however to land this kind of player we need to spend at least £35 Million. Wenger is unlikley to agree with this and we are more likley to end up with Cabaye for around £16 Million. (Also can we stop signing French please?? The academies just are NOT producing the quality they used to!) Ozil would be the kind of player that would push our whole team up a level. If Real are even remotely interested in selling we should jump at the chance. I'm praying Wenger can turn this around - If he cant for me his time has come. (and the same can be said for Gazidis) Neither are currently doing their job to the required standard.
In what way was Flamini a bitch with AC Milan.According to media reports he'd agreed a cut in wages from £75000 PW to £25000 but wanted a two year contract but was only offered one year
I would'nt mind Flamini not a bad utility player to add on a free. As long as we dont sign him instead of a TOP class addition.
Getting better then, if the Flamini deal is confirmed we have doubled our transfer activity Just feel we need a player of the calibre of Mata (whose Dad was at the emirates last night as a rumoured guest of us) or Ozil, Di Maria. Two or more would give our team the lift we need.
It would appear that the Bale to Madrid saga is nearing it's conclusion. We should now see the transfer domino effect all the sports media wags have been talking about
Flamini would be a very schrewd signing. He is not exactly old, and did a brilliant job for you previously. Not the big name signing you are after, but imo more of what you actually need. I cannot see the point of Cababye joining unless you get rid of rosciky. I would have thought it was striker/winger you were after - either: technical like rooney/suarez out and out stiker like Etoo winger/striker like walcott/Ox.
Di Maria and Ozil confirm that they will be staying at Madrid, Rooney wont be sold to Arsenal and Benzema is not moving too. I have a bad feeling that the signings Wenger is talking about will be Flamini and probably another average French player
Things could change if Ozil and Di Maria are told by Madrid that their services are no longer required
True but I cant see any of them coming to Arsenal, Ozil would probably go to Man U or back to Germany and Di Maria would probably end up in Italy
Players can confirm all they like that they are staying but if in a WC year Madrid tells them they aren't part of the clubs plans and it's either get shipped out or sit on the bench they may well have there heads turned.
If he did come to Arsenal (highly unlikely) i hope he stops being a little diving cheating **** Oh I forgot about Cabaye, I think its more than likely our 2 signings will be £15 million Cabaye and free agent Flamini, french count is going up!!!
Flamini and Cabaye would both be good solid squad signings which we currently need considering the numbers we have. Good enough quality to help bulk out the squad. What we also need on top of that are a striker and wing forward capable of something special - Benzema/Ozil/Di Maria/Mata/Rooney/Suarez - a couple of players of that level. If we can get in both the squad numbers (Cabaye/Flamini/Sanogo type signings) and a couple of game changers then we will have a fantastic looking squad. Moving on deadwood and bringing in good squad players is a step in the right direction and shouldn't be negatively viewed, we just have to make sure we dont miss out on the signings who will push our first 11 up a level as well as the players who give us quality in depth.
Sure but Flamini, Cabaye and Sanogo are no Vieira, Pires, Henry Wenger is sticking to what he knows but the fact is the French Academies are producing FAR fewer Top class players than they were a few years ago.
