Because Purslow heard the furore at the World Cup but had to offer him a big wedge at a time when we didn't look a very attractive proposition for top players. We even had to suck up to Jova when he started having second thoughts and I think his big wage was maybe part of that. We couldn't afford to be rejected over the ownership issue by a player of his low stature.
 
Would be a good transfer for us but not good for spurs!!!!

Parker is a big fish in a small pond IMO, a player who does well at smaller clubs but wouldn't do well at a big club.
Much like Roy Hodgson as a manager.

Maybe it didn't work out because he missed London more than he realised, maybe not getting a good start, maybe being snubbed at the World Cup, maybe any combo. But this season must've been the worst in his career so I wouldn't judge by one season at a new club.

He could regain his form next season. He could fit right into a Spurs team. But he'll have no resale value if he doesn't.

I think I could've done as much as Joe Cole this season. Difference is, I'd play for £90 a week. I'm only 21 too, so I've got a good decade left in me. So if you're reading this Damien, get in touch...
