Why must we put up with it?

Do you know what? This is horsesh!t. We spend hours on here moaning and moaning, so why the fck don't we do something about it? A lot of you lads on here are people of actual influence - you sit in a fckin seat, for chrissakes! With the internet age and the standard of individuals you now get bantering online, surely there's the opportunity for change? Surely collectively there can be a coming together on this?

I remember being as depressed when Shepherd was here and many peeps - myself included - got really, really vocal with their dissatisfaction - emailing, protesting, and so on. it may have been coincidence, but it wasn't long after a lot of the failings were consistently and regularly brought to light that things changed. So much so the bastad sold up, and boy didn't he leave us up poop creek without a paddle; parting shot from Fat Fred, perhaps? Don't forget, he knew what he was hiding - whether we attack for Ashley for not doing due diligence, I can guarantee messrs Shep and Hall did an awful lot of clever hiding before putting up the "For Sale" sign.

Here's a few steps that I would propose;

1) A petition, online, demanding the removal of Ashley and everything connected with him and the club - this obviously includes Pardew and Kinnear.
2) An open letter to be signed en mass and sent to Mike Ashley @ Sports Direct, to Mike Ashley at NUFC, to Lee Charnley, Joe Kinnear, Alan Pardew, Wendy Taylor, Lee Marshall, The Chronicle, The Journal, The Shields Gazette even the FA - everyone, bar Mr. Ashley, has an easily reachable email or postal address. The journo's would buy in.
3) Consistent badgering and releasing of associated Twitter accounts - Wendy and Lee M both have one, Lee M also has a LinkedIn profile
4) Drumming up of support via every known website calling "all hands" to stand against the "regime".

It cannot be allowed to go on - this is not a retail business, it cannot be run like one. This is about legacy, history, loyalty and it cannot, must not, continue to be abused. It's one thing doing it on a matchday, but as we know Ashley just sits back, laughs and counts the numbers of bums on seats. As has been said earlier, he literally has the fans down as guarantees. He saw what happened when we went down, he's managed to appoint Kinnear twice, sack Hughton, fall out with legends Keegan and Shearer yet still he remains?

Either this IS a retail business and the fans continue to sit and do nothing, or we should all realise this is much more than that and stand up for it. It's ours, surely - not fcking his.

But what if his hand is forced in selling the club? We know he's aiming for that anyway - look at the repayment schedule, he thinks we're all fcking daft, blind or helpless. He may be right, but he may be wrong. Just so we're all aware, the club owed him some £130m or so. Mr. Llambias always said it was interest free and Mike would always put the clubs ambition first, spouting some rhetoric about Ashley propping up the club in the Championship. Firstly, all he did was subsidise his investment to make sure it wasn't worthless. No-one likes throwing away £234m. Second, he took out £12m last year to leave the club showing a minor profit. He has since taken "back" another £18m and has scheduled repayments totalling £29m over the next two seasons. We are all only too aware of his "investment" in this club. It's guesswork as to what his masterplan is, but it's not about returning NUFC to Europe, aspiring to win a trophy or get 4th. How can it be, with Pardew or Kinnear?

All I'm saying is make him sell. Make him sell, and cut his losses. It's his mistake, not ours.

 

Don't think you'll get much support on here. There was a poll at the start of July where amazingly just under 70% wanted him to stay as owner.

It's quite simple. All one has to do is to ensure that there's fifty five thousand empty seats inside the stadium each and every game.

Treat everyone who buys merchandise from the club or Sporting Direct and especially those who go to the matches as a strike-breaker, a scab and then things will change.

The Manchester United fans had something when they had the old green and white scarves at their games the other season but that was low key and didn't change a thing. To change things one has to treat this as one would a strike. Nothing else will work.

 

Therein lies the problem. No-one will do that unfortunately.

 

Ashley knows that full well and will carry on filling his pockets and letting the football club become a feeder club for those who have real ambitions.

I'm with you 100% on this! I can't remember exactly what match day revenue is but it's not an insignificant amount! It's not something he can just do without! I've already made my stand - jacked my ST in and don't buy the shirts anymore. I'm not returning until MA is gone! I'd rather play in the 2nd division than put up with his ****e any longer!

If everyone didn't go to a game (preferably a televised one so a worldwide audience would see how we feel about him) it might just work. Someone, somewhere must be watching anfd have the money to buy him out!

 

Thing is, he wants to sell, but he's not wanting to take a £100m hit, so he's paying the personal loan back which makes us more and more attractive to buyers. Thing is, who's going to want to buy a club with an empty stadium or fans that protest any changes you make? It's a difficult situation.

You can't imagine some rich guy that wants a 'toy' buying us, we're not in London or the North West, the real cash cow, stadium rights, aren't an option and the natives are very restless, seems like a lot of hard work. Like a loveless marriage we might be stuck, hating each other, for a while to come.

 

He dangled the carrot of watching our team at a reduced long term rate to us all,
with 3 year and 10 year deals taken up, he knew the strength of support from us and so does what he wants knowing
that we would still turn up, with whatever is thrown at us

 

No we won't! People will stop going. People like myself and my mates. The problem is, it happens slowly. He doesn't notice it because the revenue is being replaced by the TV money. If you compare the weekend match against West Ham - in 2012 the attendance was 51,855. At the weekend it was 49,622. I know this is a little 'off the cuff' but it does show a wane in support. (If you factor in that it was the first home game of the season, you would expect a lot closer to capacity!

 

I was always under the impression that the earlier matches were always several thousand down due to it being the summer holidays?!

According to Joe Kinnear's latest mirror interview, the squad is top 10, the three stooges spent 7 hours on a yacht and the Remy deal is only a loan with no option to buy. Furthermore he cannot understand the negativity surrounding the club.

So let's carry on as is. Turns out we're the problem again.
