That save in the 2nd half, at the time I thought it was fab. I'm looking forward to MOTD to see whether I should elevate it to double fab.
where we lack goal scoering ability he will make up for some of it with top draw saves the one at chelsea last week was a world class save when he appeared to claw it back off the line. Great shot stopper as well. My only concern is when he is coming out for the ball, but i think he could be the signing of the summer in terms of value for money.
A match winning save if ever there was one, no complaints if that header had gone in and got them a draw. If we can get one in at the other end, teams around us are going to find it very difficult to score against us.
For shot stopping mcgregor is one of the world best, he has some weaknesses that the world class keeper don't but i said for ages he will be an immense signing and proving it
It was a bloody cracking save. I wouldn't go as far as that Brady, though you do seem to have a crush on the man so I'm not surprised you posted that. He is a brilliant shot-stopper though, and was a ****ing steal at £1m.
Moderators, can we now make it forum law that no matter what is being discussed, good or bad, it is to be measured on the Fab Scale? Single Fab, Double Fab, Quadruple Fab etc etc. Thanks.
He is a brilliant shot stopper. He could maybe be a little better at taking crosses but with his height that will never be easy for him, perhaps he could do more in the gym to get a bit bigger. I like his confidence with the ball at his feet but sometimes he can be a bit too cocky, there were a couple of times today where he nearly got caught out. Overall I think he is probably the best keeper we have had in my lifetime, not forgetting that we have a great reserve keeper in Harper as well.
I think McGregor might well turn out to be the signing of the season. Did he really only cost us £1m? What a ****ing bargain.
Wasn't it £1.9m? Still a fcuking bargain. I can't believe how calm he is. If he was more laid back he'd be horizontal and I imagine defenders like that.
McGregor is going to be a legend, superb defending today, confidence growing that we can keep the Man City score down next week and stay in mid table.
The Daily Telegraph reporter has described it this way : " Dutch forward Ricky van Wolfswinkel forced McGregor into a stunning fingertip save on 67 minutes with a powerful close range header from Javi Garrido's cross ". I'm feeling that after MOTD it will be elevated to at least double fab.
Ahhh.. Bread and butter stuff...Must have been his easiest game ever, apart from that save I can't recall another save. That scuffed mis-hit that spun up was the only other save I can recall. That said Norwich were awful... Thought Macca was very Peter Bonetti today. Now there was a good keeper, except for when he played for England...then he was dog-tod.
Truly great save, and his overall command of his area give the defence confidence also. Certainly one of the signings of the season.
Some people do get carried away at times after a plucky yet on occasions sloppy display against a truly abysmal performance by Norwich. I like McGregor but he has got a long way to go to match the performance by Myhill at Tottenham last time round in the EPL. ps unless the posters lifetime is only 2/3 years and was posted on his/her behalf by an adult.
Brilliant save and quite a few solid ones too. I think his distribution is outstanding. Noticed that from the Eng v Scots game, every clearance was to a Scot and even ones under pressure had length and direction. The other thing I liked was on GilletteSS at full time you could see how pumped he was, chest barging other players, hugs and really passionate.
