Now don't let us down game-goers tomorrow. It's the Gimme Shelter chant, and I expect to hear it. Loud.

Sometimes when I'm at games, I sing the original lyrics of a song instead of the chant version. I don't know why, just a strange habit.

Well anyway, if you hear someone in St. Mary's shout "Raaaaaaaaaapeeeeee, Murdeeeeer", please, don't call the emergency services.

    Same here.

I was never one to pick up on song/chant lyrics quickly so, as a wee kiddie, I used to sing Cecilia by Simon & Garfunkel, instead of Jimmy Melia. I don't think he liked it. The last one I did the same trick with was Ruby by The Kaiser Chiefs. Much as I liked Rudi Skacel, I didn't sing Rudi, Rudi, Rudi, etc, etc... because, once again, I didn't know the changed lyrics. Of course, I could have checked Youtube but back then the automatic thought of asking a search engine for the answer didn't occur quite so quickly. I make it around 40 years between Cecilia and Ruby and of not quite getting their changed lyrics correct. :)

Well I was listening on the stream but didn't pick up any Gimme Shelter, alas. Of course I heard a few renditions of the usual regurgitated 'Football Chants For Dummies' tunes, though...

I heard it once in the concourse before the game, so I guess that counts as something?

Majority of songs start at away games. You've got more vocal people in a more confined space, often with a "rehearsal" in the pub before hand.

I can certainly recall being at an away game when a mush I know started the Le Tiss song for the first time, think it was Sheffield Wednesday.

I heard the gimme shelter chant a few times from a group sat at the back in kingsland block 36. Shame they were complete ****ers, good chant nonetheless.

When the ball hits the goal its not Shearer or Cole it's Osvaldo! When the ball hits the net he makes all the girls wet it's Ovaldo!

There was a guy about 10 rows infront of me in block 41 who shouted 'OSSSSSSSVALDO! ITS JUST A....' Before OWTS was sung.

People can we please not give opinions on chants for players, it's not allowed due to numerous complaints that have been received.
