This just in, Willem Jansen is loaned out to FC Utrecht by FC Twente. Two weeks ago he was linked with Hull City but the midfielder will stay in the Eredivisie.
Mclean himself said that he could have signed for Peterboro weeks ago but he thinks he is better than league one. I agree. He is championship standard without a doubt. McLean is nowhere near being our worst ever signing. Long term fans at least will know that.

Twitter last night had Celtic about to offer £500,000 for Cammy Stewart. Fingers crossed on that one. The SPFL would be just about Stewart standard nowadays.
That's a bit harsh. I know he's not what he once was, and I know he can't even get into our reserves at the moment, but to suggest he's dropped so far down in ability as to be SPFL standard is a bit cruel.
Mclean probably wouldn't even make the top 50 worst signings, we've had some proper ****e over the years.

Well at least Chazz got where I was coming from. McLean is a million miles from our worst ever player. But he cost us over a million ffs. And now we supposedly can't get rid cos we pay him too much.

A defender is our least priority, he's 32 and probably more interested in a final pay packet than anything else and he was clinging to a club that obviously wanted rid of him.
Ahead of this season(as far as i can remember), these are the players that cost us more than a million - Folan, Marney, ***an, Halmosi, Ghilas, Mouyokolo, Zayatte, Bullard, Hunt, Olofinjana, Gardner, Cousin, Fryatt and Mclean.
I'm sure I'll have missed someone.
Bruce was just on MOTD talking to Lineker and was asked if he'd like to bring in any more players... was expecting bruce to say what he said earlier in the week and that its highly unlikely BUT he said that he's always trying and if he can bring in a FORWARD who is better than what they've got then he'll certainly try.
Good to hear that Bruce isnt satisfied and that the Allams are still willing to fund new players if the right player is available... something to look forward to on deadline day perhaps

Managers are ALWAYS looking to improve their squad, no matter what they say on the contrary.
Of course, its what they all say... I just thought he's gone from saying its "Highly Unlikely" that we'll bring anyone else in to basically telling us he's looking to bring in a new forward. Could be because he's seen more of the likes of Sagbo & Graham in training and knows we need better or that Sagbo's got a 3 match ban ahead of him.... maybe a loan deal is more likely?
