The overwhelming majority of Blackpool fans know Tom Ince is the much better player. And he is. Matt Phillips has a lot of scope, he's quick and direct but he needs major work on his decision making. I'm hoping we can mould him into a valuable asset. 22 years old, good age and with plenty to prove. He's the right sort of signing.
Heard Kevin Phillips a while back discussing Tom Ince and saying that he thought Phillips was a better player (IHO). So taken from a seasoned pro who looks for players to deliver to him. Sounds like a good buy, with years ahead to develop and improve. Charlie Austin and AJ will be pleased too. Good buy if confirmed.
Whether it affects the final outcome or not, TF should tell him to keep his mouth shut until it's done.
Oh Harry. Why! The point is that its not his comments that are losing the players to other clubs, but he is making the club look stupid. TF and the media guys have said time and time again they wont speak about transfers until they are done and dusted. HR has now done it 4 times. M'Vila in Jan, Hooper, Parker, and now Phillips. However, I would be delighted with the signing of Phillips. A great age with bags of potential, and a winger! Thats one position sorted if it happens. Now we need a LB, CB and another ST.
Really simple Judo ... it's a combination of his ego and the fact that he is going senile I haven't seen Matt Phillips play but I also cant understand why premier league clubs in the mid and lower inner divisions haven't brought him or Ince:
Bit of unprofessional of 'Arry ain't it. I'll be mega jealous though if you do sign him, great footballer. Not better than Ince like someone said but still a great player with clear potential to be successful in the prem
It seems to me that Harry thought that Hooper was almost done and dusted, and then along came Norwich so Harry opens his mouth to put a little pressure on Hooper. Same with Parker. Didn't work, but he tried. The outcome would have been the same if he had kept his trap shut. We were never going to get these players if there was any interest from Prem clubs.
Probably right there - I genuinely think he loves being interviewed by the media - he always stops and opens his window if the media are hanging around the training ground.
I don't know much about the boy but I do worry that 5 million for a player that no PL club has even considered is a bit strange. Do they know something we have missed?

......... or Norwich. Have I told you how much ..................... RangerCol, you can finish it off.
This has got me very excited. Looks like it's actually a done deal (I know, I know, not official until it's official), and I think he will turn out to be one of our best signings in years. With Phillips, Hoilett, O'Neil, Barton & Faurlin in midfield, Austin up top with whoever is not injured, and with Dunne & Onuaha at the back, I can see this being a good year. Best of all, aside from some strong additions at the back, I don't think the whole team would need a revamp if we went up. COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA! THE R's ARE GOING UP! YOU RRRRRRR'SSSSSSSSSSSSS.
This precisely ........................ this is where are current and future problems lay ...................... we are in urgent need of some strikers, Harry ?
AJ, when fit, is more than good enough for this league. I suspect young Hitchcock will be keen to continue pressing for his place which is nice to have, but it would be nice to have a fitter holding man as Bobby looks broken. (And I am a huge fan of Bobby generally). Wouldn't mind seeing Carlton Cole signed on a pay as you play basis.
