"It is believed Anelka may have experienced a recent tragedy in his personal life and talks to find an amicable solution with the club have so far failed. There is no suggestion of a bust-up." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...nd-could-retire-from-football-completely.html
Sad news about Bennett as he was adjusting well IMO to the Premier League and finding his feet. With Anelka you never know do you?
"New Swedish striker signing Johan Elmander will be involved at Hull if the club obtain international clearance in time following his season-long loan move from Galatasary." http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic..._until_next_year_after_knee_surgery_1_2349808 Speculation surely, no quote on there from CH saying that.
with benno out until jan, will it force our hand into the market again? a blast from the past, Diego Capel anyone? arsenal and liverpool have been linked and sporting are looking to do business.
I don't think EB's injury will affect our transfer targets - we have Pilks/Snod/redmond/Olsson and Whittaker who can all play wide midfield and EB was never going to be first choice even thought I think he is a decent player and good cover at RB. I am happy to go with what we have but should a certain Toby decide that he fancied a spell in glorious Norwich then I'd happily bring him on board.
You reckon Johan Elmander will play against Hull?, they seem to be suggesting on EDP24 that he will, anyone know if he's match fit?
If it's true what the EDP are saying, I reckon he'll be on the bench if he gets clearance. Very much doubt he'll start.
Listening to "big" Sam Allardyce today, West Ham have no more dosh unless they sell a player (which may be true). Juve would prefer to sell Quags rather than loan him so - bottom line - we may still be in there. We might also have more reason to push this one with EB being out for a while. Also, am I the only one who thinks Toby A could still slip in before the window shuts?
I can't see us signing another two players in the transfer window to be honest. I think we've done good business already and one more will be more than enough, I do think it'll be another centre half and probably won't let Ayala go until we sign one, especially with Turner and Bassong having recent injuries. Elmander coming in probably ends our interest in Quagariella, who seemed to make it clear he didn't fancy the move to Norwich.
Quags isn't the same type as JE but I take your point on him, YellowLittle. I still think Toby is a possibility as other erstwhile interested EPL clubs seemed to have moved on, at least visibly.
