Sadly though I feel it will be unknowns as opposed to proven quality. I know it is only the first game of the season but it showed how badly we need a Gustavo/Bender enforcer Good piece in the I today http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/the-independents-99m-plan-to-restore-the-lost-faith-of-arsenals-support-8773499.html
shock news arsenal make a bid for Newcastle player, will he sign or wont he, I am saying he wont sign, because arsenal are having to pay over the odds for an average player, he hardly improves the arsenal aquad
If Wenger can get him performing then we've got an incredible player there. I doubt we'll get him though because Newcastle will want something stupid like £30 million.
Kongdogbia also mentioned. Now there is a gem of a player. I would take him in a heartbeat. Seems we are going all out now, throw something and hope it sticks.
Which worries me as are we going to get money spent for the sake of it like after we lost 8:2 to Manure. Whilst I know that Arteta had been on our radar for a long while I don't think that Santos or Benayoun were that much of a success.
Cabeye smells of a panic buy. Also Ashley will stick a big premium on his ass, especially as it's so late in the day and he can see that Wenger is looking a bit desperate. Unless Cabeye demands a move, he won't come cheap.
Benayoun was fine for us. Scored some crucial goals towards the end of the season. I never understood why we didn't make him a permanent member of the squad as he was very useful backup. What we need now are faces, sadly. We'll have to pay over the odds for average players as we don't have much of a choice anymore.
To all Arsenal fans; you can have Cabaye by all means but Uncle Mike will fleece you way over the odds and he will not make your team any better. Truthfully, he really won't.
12m bid is embarrassing really. No way will Ashley do business at the price (notoriously difficult seller) and the fact you've bid a few hours before our game will add a few million to the price. I'm not saying he's worth this amount but Ashley won't do business for anything south of 20m. Cabaye has 3 years on his contract and is a big, big player for us.
Can laugh all you want, and like I said he's not worth that amount. However the fact is it's: A: Very late in the window. B: He has 3 years left on his contract. C: He's a full french international who plays almost every competitive game for them these days. D: Ashley knows that Wenger is desperate (and in case it escaped your attentiion this is the man the fleeced Liverpool for 35m). You then have to take in to account we'd have to pay an inflated price for his replacement due to the fact it is so late in the window
We should make a bid for Geoffrey Kondogbia. Apart from Barca and Real, the Spanish clubs have all becoming selling clubs, so if we make a proper bid, we should get our target.
Seems like a fair enough assumption. Wenger has backed himself into a corner unless he can string a few good results together and win the all important NLD, then he can continue to waffle on about the transfers and get away with it.
