He's french, injury prone, has unfulfilled potential etc. It'll be Wenger's final ego-trip signing, i reckon if he thinks he can fix Gourcuff, then he'll prove to everyone he's still a good manager.
1) the first player will be Dimitri Vavenko from FC Shrezenva for 3.5 million 2) The second player will be Litkey Limar from FC Shrazberganov for 1.5 million with add ons rising to 4 million
Isn't that where we've been going wrong though? We buy for the future, we ignore the present. with the current shambles, it would be best to ignore young players for once, and sign some established pros
Could the two unnamed players be Bakkali and Wijnaldum from PSV? Heard Wenger was interested. Both youngesters
Draxler is one of the special young players out there though, with the likes of Thiago, Isco, Gotze, Verratti. He'd walk straight into the team with every player fit and available.
I think he's incredible personally. All though he's more of a central player now he'd take our LW spot comfortably.
The other problem we now face is the fact that every club in Europe now know how desperate we are and therefore trying to get players is going to be that bit harder. The selling club can now wait and make us pay every last penny. Wenger and co really have ****ed up big time, and for me they all need to get the sack for what they have done this summer.
BBC Sport pundit Alan Hansen believes Arsenal's 3-1 defeat by Aston Villa highlighted the London club's need to bring in a "destructive" holding player. "Arsenal have had frailties for the last three or four years in certain positions," Hansen says on MOTD3. "They have got the money to fill those positions but Arsene Wenger has not done so. "I think if you sign Luis Suarez for £40m that is fine but I don't think that position [striker] is a major problem. I think goalkeeper, back four and a holding player that is destructive is much needed. It is when they have not got the ball that is the problem and we saw that against Aston Villa." Not much to disagree with. Pretty much what all us fans are asking for.
But that can't be right, people here constantly reminded me that you have to pay way above market price early in the transfer window when I accused the club of incompetence. Are you saying that in addition to the reduced pool of quality players available, increased dependence on the situation of the selling club, we also might need to pay above what we would have a month a go?
Lars Bender and Draxler would be the saving grace of this transfer window. There are still just under two weeks left, so despite the shambles this window has been so far, I'm reserving judgement until the end, there is still time to sign the players we've been calling for.
And if we sustain any more injuries then other teams will smell our desperation. At the moment, Wenger can patch up for our squad inadequacies, but if you was a manager of a team with players that Arsenal wanted, would you take advantage and screw us for as much money as possible?
Wenger: Good response is absolutely key this bit made me laugh: “What is important is to rebuild confidence before Wednesday night. It is a massive game for us. There is always a lot of danger in a team because it is a human activity multiplied by 25 - it means the negativity can spread quickly." You wish!
Yup me too. I would love Draxler at Arsenal. Lars Bender and Draxler would be two of the best youngsters we could sign IMO.
