Chambers and Prowse were good, proved the people saying they aren't up to it wrong in todays game.

I still don't like to think its a definite goal as soon as Lambert steps up. Because I know one day he probably will miss one and I'll need a week to recover from it

Because last season he was really poor for Lyon. Can't just ignore that. So yeah, very much hoping he keeps it up.

I know, but we have hardly given him a chance here, at the Saints! If we ruled out every player on how they performed for past clubs, many of our team should be discounted from our squad. Boruc, Hooiveld, Jay Rod (or one goal..) Lambert in his early days.. Players improve, play better with others and in Lovrens case, he was touted as the next best thing 2 years ago at Lyon by the same fans who wanted rid so bad now. And as you just said, 'you cant ignore that'...

A few thought JWP wasn't good enough pre-match. All I thought when he was selected was that he must have come on nicely during the summer. Great to hear that Shaw is fit...wait until there is an U21 match in the offing :) Really pleased Lovren and Wanyama started well. Hope we get some decent coverage on MOTD.

Why the negative end to the sentance?! He was sumblime, possibly my MoM with JWP.

Because I've made it very clear I didn't like the signing at all, he was really, really bad last season. However he's got the potential to be a good player for us, and today was a very good start to that - I'd not say he was MoM, but if he keeps it up then all of my fears will have been for nothing and I'll happily accept I was wrong.

You know it's a mug's game, as I came to realise after my England vs Scotland Lambert anytime scorer bet was declared void because he didn't start! Bastards!

You've been ripped off there then. The whole point of anytime scoring is to include players who don't start. I'd get the complaint email drafted.

Shaw was incredible. A draw would have been fair but we were the better team, an improved version of last year with less defensive mistakes plus wanyama who looks like a proper talent. Hope Gaston can find a bit of form as we lacked creativity today. Chambers doesn't convince me defensively but the talent is there and he had very good debut.

I love how boruc amkes the most casual error in conceding a corner and then pulls out an unbelievable stop. The whole team was good without a lot of cutting edge, puncheon and guly back in the squad for me.

Fonte played a few bad passes and he nearly conceded a corner like against man u at home but he was good enough, would prefer maya though. Lovren was very good,

Wonder how many teams have started three eighteen year olds in the Prem, and won. Cannot be a long list.

I can't believe how little euphoria there is on here! Come on guys, that's our first winning start to a Prem season since 1643 FFS!

Or even better 3 English players from the academy in starting line up.
