Gut feeling this Osvaldo will sign for us, not convinced Spurs are committed to signing this guy. Whether he'll be good for us I'm not convinced. He's detested in Rome and has no choice but to move. Cortese has pulled out all the stops to sign him, Osvaldo has to decide whether to accept our offer or we will look elsewhere pronto. Refuse our offer and he could end up f**ked, Roma obviously don't want to sell to Inter and even if Spurs did come in for him he would be 2nd fiddle to Soldado and his World Cup dream would be history.
Spurs wanted him. He turned us down (Daily Star). Pochettino called him. Now he's supposedly accepted. All the talk.
Yep, still not huge money for PL, with increase in TV money I would be shocked if that was pushing the boat out.
If we want to compete with the big boys these are the wages we will have to pay. I'm okay with it if he does the business and Cortese keeps our finances in order.
Is it normal to state wages as being after tax? Like when we all make fun of QPR for giving Bosingwa £90k a week, is that £90k after tax? If not, then why are we paying QPR level wages?
The Italian report I saw said £48,000. If that's the wage, I'd be okay with that for him. But when you get over £50k I think people get edgy.
And yet 50 isn't a massive wage for a upper mid table club. Look at what the Carrolls and Downings are reputed to be getting. I have no problem with it as long as it's sustainable within the financial restraints of the club.
When it comes down to the wages, finances etc I have no doubt at all in Cortese and that we would pay something we cant afford isn´t gonna happen.
50k isn't a massive wage for a mid-table club either, unless everyone is on 50k. But yeah, 55k makes me whimper a tad just because it crosses a theoretical barrier.
