Or possibly that whoever actually writes the Tweets has revealed it - it is clearly written by someone fluent in Turkish; believe me, Turkish is one hell of a difficult language to learn! I don't know if the site is genuine or not (but I have my doubts) but if it is, it's certainly ghost-written. Has one heck of a lot of followers for a fake site though...
134k followers? Doubt it's fake tbh. Maybe got a bit over zealous before the club wanted to announce it.
If you compare who each account is following the most likely genuine account is the other one. Has pictures of him with wife and is following lots of other footballers. The one which tweeted the one with the NCFC crest follows mainly Turkish names; can't imagine Elmander is that settled and fluent. Doesn't mean he's not signing, but I'm pretty certain he hasn't announced it on twitter.
I agree, the less-followed account seems to have pics that are less likely to be publically available, but I'm surprised a fan/fake-account would have so many followers! Equally, the quieter account follows the larger one, which is strange. As to the player not leaking it, Nash did.
Red&Yellow ‏@Ataqoz 28m Johan Elmander has joined Norwich City on a free transfer according to @Amkspor. He'll earn €1.4m at NCFC & GS will pay the remaining €400k.
As I said the other day, if we could pick him up for nothing, or perhaps no more than a million or two, then I think he'd definitely be a good signing. I've always liked him, and he won't want to come and sit on the bench in a World Cup season so he'll want to prove himself and work hard for his place in the team which can only be a good thing for the club. If we are looking to bring in a seasoned pro with international experience and pedigree to start the season as back up then I'd rather us pay a couple of million than risk quadruple that on Quagliarella, who has never played in the PL and I'm guessing doesn't speak the lingo (I might be wrong on this, but certainly a smaller proportion of Italians speak English than the Scandinavians). It wouldn't make a huge dent in our transfer kitty and I reckon he could do a job. The fact he's an absolute dead ringer for Holt is also hilarious Edit: just seen we've got him on a free - that's unbelievable business! I'm well happy about that, nice one
Cant argue with a free transfer to be honest! Was unsure on him, after being linked with quag but if its true he will do a job for us. Money on a CB now??
Yeah, Falcao has been speculated all day... Its believed he might be going to Real Madrid! There was a clause that meant were Madrid wanting to sign him from Atletico it would cost them more than any other club. Extra 10mil I think. So its believed he moved to Monaco with them agreeing a deal with RM for a later date for the transfer though I thought it wouldn't happen this soon!
Perfectly happy with Elmander on a free. Experience player and he knows the league. Great for RvW and GH to have the experienced head to learn from.
I can't see any Swedish language in either Twitter account and neither account follows any Swedish people. I'm pretty sure those accounts are not Elmander.
Yeah, I can't see a lot, although 'apparently' turkish media have been reporting this as a done deal for a week.
What makes me laugh is, galatasaray fans are dissapointed that he's leaving and they really liked him. This is for a top club, yet Bolton fans says hes bang average or even worse... Bitter fans anyone! Lol
I don't know any Gala fans who are disappointed he's leaving from a footballing viewpoint, he's not exactly popular and barely played last year. However, the Turkish fans like having international players from other countries as it creates exposure and positions them as an 'international' club and league. Normally, these international 'stars' arrive with a big fanfare and leave pretty quietly eg Baros. As I said earlier today, Elmander has been out of favour for over a season - he has been available for transfer for months, but other than Hull and Blackburn, only one other English side has been linked with him, sadly Norwich. I couldn't care if he's free or if he's 'only' on £23k a week. The few times he played last season, he was absolutely terrible, making some incredibly poor defenders look like Thiago Silva. Having seen him quite a few times in red and yellow, I think the Bolton fans are right. I still think it's a shocking transfer, even free. He'll play a couple of times, probably coming on as a sub or in a cup game and that will be it, he will disappear from thought and view...
Certainly not that I've seen, but I only read the papers printed in English. It is absolutely no surprise he's leaving, he's been on the transfer list for months, having it made clear months ago, he has no future at the club. The only surprise is that Norwich have been somehow convinced to sign a player who was absolute ****e all last season.
