The last few days of the window will be the time to sign players. This period is all about posturing between buyer and seller. The real business always gets done right at the eleventh hour
a few weeks without signing anyone and you feel a bit emotional????so ****ing what... that sums up my emotions for the whole of spurs premiership history for me...that's 20 ****ing years... you really are a ****ing light weight
So if Sagna really is injured, we have 1 available back 4, anything happens to 1 of them, we're in the ****ter, or thinking of fancy new strategies that negate the need for a defence.
Gustavo would have been the perfect signing for his talent in midfield and his versatility to cover two defensive positions. Throw in a new RB too and that's even better. If the reason for our seemingly failure to sign Gustavo is down to wages, after we just freed up half a million a week, then that's just dumb.
We have been a complete and utter joke in this transfer window so far, so it would hardly be shock to see us miss out another transfer target. Sadly, I fear it's going to take another '8-2' for Wenger to get his head out of his arse and spend some ****ing money.
We'll have to lose the NLD, which would be really painful, but if it gets us Bender and Suarez, might be worth it.
Looks like Wenger does not want Gustavo, because he is better than Ramsey or Arteta. Gustavo would walk into the first team ahead of Ramsey and this is probably not what Wenger wants. He wants some reinforcements in midfield, but not the new starters. So I guess by the end of this moth we will get some Abdelauuueeaayuuu guy who would be glad to sit on the bench and cost next to nothing.
It's all when and good waiting until the dying end if you are strapped for cash, but why now when we have all this money? It's like not buying those replacement tires for your car when you know that they look a bit dodgy, just because you think you might get 1% off? I just don't understand people defending Wenger when we are a few days away from starting the new season with a clearly thin squad. It beggars belief.
These stories continue to rumble on....... Lots more stories on the futures of Cesc Fabregas, Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez in Thursday's national newspapers. Manchester United are prepared to offer up to £40m for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, 26, as manager David Moyes refuses to concede defeat in his efforts to sign the Spain international. (Daily Telegraph) Real Madrid are confident they will land Gareth Bale, 24, for a world-record £81m. But the Spanish giants believe Tottenham will make them wait till just before the transfer window shuts on 2 September. (Sun) Arsenal have not given up hope of signing Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, 26, and are considering a final bid of £49m. (Daily Telegraph) On other news: Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is one of nine top-flight managers holding a news conference on Thursday and we will bring you all the latest on what he says about the future of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez. Looks like we might get a clearer picture on Suarez come today.
Just wait.. It will turn out we never even bid for Gustavo. In fact we probably didnt even make contact with the player. We have made only two bids this Summer Suarez and Lars Bender. Not exactly working hard to strengthen the squad. Wenger does'nt want to spend. He would rather wait another 3 years for Wilshere and Ramsey to reach their potential.
With all due respect, how will you guys get a clearer picture today? None of you believe a word BR says and he's not going to change his stance of "he's not for sale"
He might let a few things slip. Like before you guys wanted more money and only when we played hardball is when you shut up shop. We don't know for sure what is happening behind the scenes, but BR does tend to put his foot in it sometimes.
BR never said he wanted more money. He has maintained that Luis is not for sale throughout. However, he did point out that other players such as Cavani had move for more money. You've clearly linked the two regardless
Why would you bring up money if you wasn't angling for a bigger fee? If this wasn't the case then it's another case of him putting his foot into his mouth. He should have kept quiet and said he wasn't available. That would have been case closed. Just incase you're wondering, I do like him as a manager, just that he says inappropiate things at times.
Isn't there a bunch of BR quotes where he says that Arsenal's offer isn't high enough, and they'll have to pay what Suarez is worth?
Because he likes the sound of his own voice and doesn't know when to shut up, I'm surprised he can walk/talk with how much his foot is in his mouth! However, he has maintained that Luis is not for sale and pointing out those amounts was his way of saying 'no chance'. I'm happy to accept I am wrong so feel free to post them if true
