They really are going for it. They are linked with a few tasty players worth abit too. If they can get a good creative midfielder, then they will be looking very strong come this season. Saying that, they do have Holtby....

Arsenal plot double swoop for PSV pair Georginio Wijnaldum and Zakaria Bakkali
http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...ootball-news (Daily Express :: Football Feed)

Reports in Holland suggest that Arsenal had the youngsters watched last week and could be about to step up their interest in the pair.

According to Voetbal International the Gunners sent Peter Clarke, who they claim only scouts players in whom the north London club are "extremely interested", to watch the players in PSV opening match of the Dutch league season against Den Haag.

Wijnaldum is an attacking midfielder whose favoured position is a central playmaking role, although he can also play on the wing.

The 22-year-old Dutch international came through the ranks at Feyenoord, becoming the youngest player to ever represent the club in the Eredivisie before making a £4m switch to PSV in 2011.

Bakkali, on the other hand, is regarded as a special talent by PSV after beaming the youngest ever player to score a hat trick in the Dutch top flight in his second ever appearance for the club last season.

17-year-old Bakkali is a Belgian youth international who plays primarily as a right winger, and could make his senior debut for Belguim against France this evening after being called up by Marc Wilmots.

Bakkali reportedly turned down interest from Manchester City two years ago to remain in Holland but could be tempted to move to the Premier League with Arsenal this time around.

Not heard of these guys, are they any good?

Bakkali is a real talent apparently, Wijnaldum was supposed to be good, but his career hasn't taken off at the level he was expected to be, he's still pretty good, but i don't want him.

For **** sake, two more youngsters, with potential, for positions in which we're already well stocked with players like Cazorla, Wilshere, Rosicky, Walcott and Ox. Maybe if he was a left winger... but no.

No new quotes or information. Just using old quotes and speculating. I guess we'll see how accurate this article is by Saturday, when we've still signed no-one...

    I could understand us not signing anyone if;

    A) We didn't have CL football
    B) We already had a great squad
    C) We were located in a very unappealing place, like Stoke

but as none of the above is true (we have CL football, we don't have a great squad, and London is a pretty decent place) i honestly can't see why people keep backing Wenger, when he never delivers. We were "working hard" to sign Suarez, that hasn't happened etc.

    1. We don't have Champions League football. For contract/legal purposes we are still in the qualifying rounds.
    2. We do have a good squad, who all have (at least) a year's experience in the PL. Anyone coming in, in almost every position has a serious challenge to be in the first XI.
    3. 1 out of 3 aint bad.

Unfortunately, your opinion is worthless, because you're the sort of person who would back Arsene even if he got us relegated.

You do see how absurd you are, when you introduce relegation in the context of a manager that has kept us in the top 4, for 15 years.

You can't discuss anything rationally with a person that seems to think that because I support a manger that has qualified us for the Champions league for that long, I would therefore support him if he got us relegated.

How does your mind work, such that you can make that logical step? Are you brain damaged?
