I've spent the past couple of days learning to play Texas hold 'em properly. Still got a long way to go, but I can now routinely wipe people out on play money tables. Might be time to dive into a real money game soon.

That's most of what I've been learning. Discipline. It's bloody difficult to fold when you've got a lot of money on the table.

Indeed, I know how you should do it, but I just end up getting bored and always pushing, especially when playing with free money as it doesn't really matter if you lose.

Indeed. I used to play fairly seriously a few years back -- it was my job between jobs -- and while I can remember a couple bad beats, the couple hands that I remember most vividly were ones where I had to fold, and was all but physically ill doing so.
