Gareth Bale looks set to train with Wales on Monday afternoon after reporting for international duty, according to Press Association Sport.

The Tottenham winger - who continues to be linked with a world record transfer to Real Madrid - has not played for nearly a month as he nurses a foot injury.

Foot? Butt? Has he had more than one injury?

    Yep, he has.

I will be fascinated to see if he trains 'fully' with Wales.

I hope he plays for Wales, because then I expect him to play for us.

If he doesn't, then for the first time I'll be strongly convinced he's leaving.

Indeed. If he plays for Wales when we've said unlikely to be fit for Palace then i will be 75% sure he is off. If he then subsquently doesn't play against Palace then i will be almost 100%.

plenty of time for that to change! He'll make a recovery for wednesday, but then on thursday he'll be "feeling the affects" of it, and will need to miss sunday....

these comments from Coleman aren't exactly reassuring.

"I am sure with what is going on in terms of the transfer, there is a lot on his mind and Tottenham's mind.

"I don't get involved with what is going on with Gareth's transfer.

"Whatever is going to happen is up to Tottenham and Gareth. We have picked the squad, and he is in it."

The way he's spoken about "the transfer", makes it seem like the transfer actually exists and it's in the process of happening/going through.

  9. As I said, he's gone.

Anyone who believes any of that old pony about Bale's injury (foot or arse, who cares!), is simply gullible.

Coleman's a dick. He's probably just reading the press and going by that.

Well, I'm still of an open mind. But for sure, if he plays for Wales and then not for us, I'm with Spurm it's 99% he's going.

I suspect he won't play for Wales, so then the situation will stay confused.

I don't think I've voted yet, I'll certainly wait until Monday at least before doing so, if I haven't.

its getting to the point where if he played for Wales and not for us then it would be a relief. I'm sick to death of this Bale bs now.

someone on 5-live has "confirmed" that Bale is taking part in light training but will not play for Wales.
    16.27 on bbc sportsday.

I dunno how she is confirming that, so don't ask me.

Why on earth would Coleman have the inside track on any transfer though? He's got bugger all to do with Spurs and bugger all to do with Madrid. It's none of his business, and I suspect he knows no more than the rest of us.

I'm still pretty confident that Madrid haven't actually made a bid yet, well, a realistic one.

So Bale isn't playing for Wales, because he's injured. So just who are the 'gullible ones'?

As I said, if he'd have played for Wales, then not us, suspicions would have been raised. But him not playing for Wales is perfectly in line with the fact he is injured, and once more the 'conspiracy theorists' have got it completely wrong, IMH(and indeed gullible ) opinion

  16. Well, I guess we're going to find out, in time.

Trust me, I'll take absolutely no pleasure in being proved right.

Yep HIAG, I guess we will. Quite often I've been negative about Spurs and hoped to be proved wrong, so I know the feeling ;)

I'm very strongly against 'conspiracy theories' in pretty much every matter from football to politics, to landing on the Moon, or building the pyramids.

I always go with the most straightforward explanation by default, and it takes a lot to shift me towards more labyrinthine ground.

To me it makes perfect sense that Bale is injured, it happens all the time. It's an irritating time for it to happen, but c'est la vie.

Of course, even if he is injured, he still may leave, the two aren't inextricably tied together.

I believe Bale is injured, but I'm 50/50 whether he's leaving the club. Only three more weeks and we'll know for certain. To me it's just a crying shame, he won't be playing against Palace, because boy do we miss him when he's not there.

I voted yes because I don't think a satisfactory deal can be done this summer, but all the signs are that Bale will leave in the next 12 months.

I don't think you'll see the best from Bale. His pre-season has given him no preparation, for a start. And he seems to be a confidence player who has hot streaks of form - not sure he will be in the right frame of mind this time. He's like Stuart Broad bowling for England. He's either hot or he's not.

I've gone for " Yes" too. Not because I don't believe that he wants to go, I do. I just think that Levy's intransigent stance and price demands will not be met.

As to how he performs, I would expect him to start slowly, but hopefully, accept the situation, and knuckle down.
