Im not saying Sturridge is a world class player and is up there with Neymar and CR7 in terms of skills I just don't agree with it when you say youre either born with it or you aren't. you are born with stuff like finishing and pace. but anyone can do tricks if you practice enough. I think we'll end this here <ok>

haha Is English your 3rd Language? What an idiot. Thoroughly embarrassed yourself here.
But you did show up with a limited supply of water for your water gun, while I had a massive bazooka. Was always an unfair battle of wits.

Just out of interest what would Arsenal fans regard as a good season? CL and a doemstic cup? A good run in Europe? A serious title challenge.? Not taking the piss here by the way - just genuinely interested to hear what you lot are hoping for this season - a few of my friends haven't been so pessimistic for years.

A title challenge with a good run in Europe and maybe winning a domestic cup. That would be a good start.
It's not even about the lack of trophies which kills Gooners. I just think it's the lack of effort in buying players and keeping them that does our heads in,

One of my friends was saying that last night. He doesn't mind the price of the season ticket (though that's only ok if you can afford it of course) but it was the expectation, raised by the board of course, that once they were properly bedded into the Emirates the chequebook would really come out and it never seems to do so in the way the fans want it to and feel they were promised.

I must admit I do wonder whether someone should think about taking down all those signs in the stadium depicting the years you won trophies - it's almost like a gypsy curse now!

it depends on that year. look at citeh

But they have done better in the years when they have made fewer signings, so have Chelsea. Same with Liverpool. You have generally done better with a stable side, when you haven't got in a load of new players.

Chelsea did best for the 2 years after they bought a whole new team..

congratulations I guess the bazooka was no match. you lose an argument on the internet and resort to insulting the grammar of the guy who beat you. I bet you are that guy on facebook who goes around correcting people.

that was to be expected of city and Chelsea who have the funds that other clubs don't. im not expecting to see all of our new signings starting mainly just aspas and migs <ok>

This is a good point. If you do not end up buying anyone, it will mean that you'll start like a train, everyone used to playing together as long as there is a good team spirit (i.e. no one is pissed off about the team not improving). However over the winter months you'll struggle without much of a plan B if you get tired/injured players. Buying after the season starts at the last minute will disrupt you no end.

I didn't insult your grammar. Another misunderstanding. I just find the way you're unable to understand what I posted funny.
Simple question. Where did I say anything about being born with skill? You really are an idiot.

all rivalry aside I am genuinely amazed that Arsenal fans want suarez...he is a nasty racist ****... arguably worse than the John Terry's of this world ... good footballer but a complete **** on the pitch...I think it says everything about how souless football has become that he is seen as being worth buying

I know any one can lose their temper and make plenty of mistakes but I can not get over how he refused to apologise after the Suarez incident. It would never occur to me to use a persons colour to insult them but if I was chatting to someone and they were insulted by something I said as a joke I'd apologise but he acted like a victim and then his insisting it was culturally acceptable in his homeland so what's the problem here was crass beyond belief.

I won't rehash all the arguements but I do think Arsenal are taking a huge risk...he has been banned for 7 matches in Holland for biting; took a club to court to force a move to Ajax; threatened to do the same to Ajax when he wanted to go to liverpool, banned for 8 matches for the Evra incident, arguably cost Dalglish his job, got a ban for given fulham fans the finger, got the 10 match ban for biting last season, claimed he wanted to leave Lpool cos of the press intrusion into his personal life, now claims he wants to leave cos he needs CL football and appears to be using Arsenal to get interest from Real Madrid...

That is one ****ing big charge sheet...if you do get him he's banned for the first 6 matches and his track record suggests another ban could follow in the not too distant future...and like I said ... he's a ****

Well the whole 'racist' thing is highly arguable. Besides calling someone a certain name isnt the same thing as having a certain ideology.

We have all said stupid things.

But yeah he definitely has an anger problem and so from that perspective is a risk.

As far as the racism thing is concerned the cultural thing is a decent excuse for me. I used to work with a lot of south americans and play football in a team made up of about 50% south americans and what they deem racist and what everyone else does is vastly different, with certain words being used or things said in certain ways that others would immedietly think racist and they just see as normal and don't mean offence.

I'm not saying whether that is or isn't what happened with Suarez but i can understand it being blown out of proportion because of cultural differences.

Biting people, the finger etc is through competitivenes,, but is totally wrong and he needs to grow up and cut out the petty nonsense. It makes him look like an idiot and he hasto realise that for his own good (whether he willor not remains to be seen).

As far as how he has gone about getting moves in the past i think we just need to be wise to it. Make sure we have a clause in the contract that protects us e.g. a release clause of more than we paid for him if xyz comein for him etc.... Asl ong as you know he will likely want to mvoeo n you make the best of his talents while you have hium and plan in advance for his departure.

He's definetly a ****, but he's also a very good football player, go into it with our eyes open to who he is and i think it is worth the risk.

Agreed...it was the refusal to simply say "sorry, no offence was meant...I wouldn't have said it if I realised how it could be taken here" that makes me think he is a **** to be honest...I am sure I have said plenty of stupid things and caused offence but I would always apologise for accidentally offending someone.

Anyway I wasn't digging at Arsenal...I am just surprised that they'd buy him

fair enough mate ... wouldn't want him at WHL ... but as he ain't desperate for thursday night football I won't have to worry <laugh>

Can't believe an owner has finally stood up to player power, media whoring etc, disrespect to fans of the game... and is being criticised.

Take a bow John Henry.

Yeh 'coz Wenger's such a tight-arse it might be the only way to get him to spend some money and Gazidis only exists in slime
