There was some talk the other day of him maybe wanting a loan move somewhere but I think that is unlikely in my opinion. I mentioned one two other backup targets in Jackson Martinez or Muriel if we don't manage to get Suarez.

Maybe even Rooney. United could sell to us, because I do not think we are seen as one of their biggest rivals, especially compared to Chelsea.

Rooney would still be a really good acquisition,
but I wouldn't be wanting us to pay much over 25m for him.

Completely agree, if it looks like the Suarez deal won't happen then we should go for Rooney - he's another proven premier league player and as you say Utd are more likely to sell to us.

Funny how all the Scousers are falling back on Coutinho. He looks a decent player with some talent, but he's done nothing of note. Seen some of those blinkered plebs even mention him alongside the likes of Hazard, Mata, Cazorla, etc. Their delusion knows no bounds.

As I said, none of your mediocre ****e would get into the Liverpool squad, I mean who would we take? Walcott the Athlete with football boots? Or Super Jack, who has not really done **** all to date, other than impress you lot, as he can run faster than all the other players in your team.
Your some comedian pal,

All we really need is someone who can put the ball in the back of the net, proven striker. I'd like to think our relationship with Manchester United has thawed somewhat in recent years and that a deal can possibly be brokered. I don't think they see us as rivals anymore tbh.

Are you kidding me, he is the new messi, in fact he is better than pele, and will score more goals.

Don't understand why anyone would want Rooney. He was good in his heyday. But he's past his prime now I reckon. Looks fat and disinterested. Wouldn't want to dish any money out out on him.

If we are the only club in for him you think Liverpool will keep him against his will even if he has handed in a transfer request and pursued things with the prem and courts as far as possible?

What is he going to go to court with? Verbal agreements count for nothing legally, so even if that is true, which I doubt, the written contract gives him nothing. he can't go to court, and make Liverpool sell him for well under market value, and to a direct competitor? He's a bigger moron than I already think he is, if he even tries that.

The key statement you make is IF he ever hands in a transfer request, which he has so far not done, for all his talk. So, to date, bitey keeping hold of his bonuses, is more important than this mythical Champions' League football he needs to survive. I mean it is total bollox. What is so important to flying out to Central Asia to play FC Shakhter Karagandy? What will he or any other player in the world gain by doing this? Yes, that's right... MONEY, and that is all this is over.

I still think we should push this Suarez deal though, he's the much better player. John Henry is trying to engineer a situation that suits Liverpool - as he should - by either getting Suarez to try and forget about it, apologise and stay at Liverpool, hand in a transfer request and force a move to Arsenal, or put Arsenal off and tempt a bid from Real so that they can sell him abroad.

We should push this one to the last day of the window, but the danger is that we might miss out on Rooney if we do. We've already missed out on Higuain, although I'm glad we didn't get mugged for 35m for him

"Bitey" is what you call him now? <laugh> Man you're not bitter at all. Reminds me of all the little things former friends bring up as soon as you have a little tiff with them. Sad stuff really. Especially when they all wore those shirts in support of this guy.

I was replying to gerrez when i posted that comment as he was saying he can't see Henry selling to Arsenal for any price. My question was whether gerrez thought Liverpool would keep him if its only Arsenal in for him, even if Suarez makes as much of a fuss as possible and continues to burn all bridges.

So your replying to something that wasn't the point <ok>

But to answer your post i'd say i think he will hand in a transfer request and i expect that will be oneof the next few steps we see unfold in this saga

At this very moment in time, I rate Rosicky as a better player.

Are you like, 12? What's with the "All" bit, can't you comprehend people having different opinions? I'm not falling back on Coutinho. I'm falling back on our whole squad, hopefully without Suarez in it, but you can't have everything.

I see it as the acid test to the whole thing. If he does that, then I may start to believe he is being honest about his reasons for leaving. I don't think he will do it.

I was saying in an earlier post that a transfer request could be put forth by tomorrow (if the article earlier in the week is to be believed).

And on a side note, the ignore button is certainly an effective way to filter unwanted elements on here! <whistle>
